I got another e-mail today from Gozde who told me that www.gtahotels.com are trying to 'finalize things' for me. They are 'negotiating with their provider' and the hotel I booked.

Subsequently I ended up booking a room through skoosh.com and so far the service has been excellent. Also called the hotel to confirm and no issues, nada


If these guys are actually telling people on the phone that GTA stands for Gullivers Travels, this is really sad for that company and hope they can guess this resolved.

I wouldnt touch GTA Travels with a 50 foot pole at this point. I'd also cancel any credit cards ever used with these guys. Who knows what they are up to.

I too am having problems w/gtahotel.com. They have over charged me and won't issue a full refund. I am out only a few dollars but it is interesting that they are placing the blame on my credit union, stating the difference is due to the fees my bank is charging. My bank has also attempted to contact them but they refuse to discuss the matter with them. Stay clear of GTahotels.com

I am hoping my problem is resolved. Sheraton Dubai have e-mailed me to say that I have a confirmed booking for 25 October to 1 November, however, I have a voucher until 2 November. I am just waiting for www.gtahotels.com to sort the last day and confirm everything with me.

I booked two hotels using GTAhotels. I had to cancel both six weeks before travelling. The refund for one was made to my credit card in reasonable time. The other was a real struggle. At first they claimed that they were unable to credit my card as they had changed banks. Then it was too long between the time of booking and cancelling. At various times they offered to send dollar and Euro cheques. Lastly they claimed to have sent a cheque some three weeks previously at which time (some ten weeks after cancellation) I lost patience and contacted my credit card company who actioned a chargeback to recover the sum due.

So two bookings made and cancelled at the same time were treated very differently - confusing.

On January 3, 2009 I made a hotel reservation at GTAhotels.com for the Yosemite Lodge at the Falls in Yosemite National Park. I received an email stating the Reservation Status was Confirmed, with all the details of our trip, Booking Tracking Number. They charged our credit card for the full amount of the reservation.
On January 26, 2009 I received an email that my reservation was canceled due to "a technical issue". After calling the company's customer support, they offered at first the same room for $1100 more, and offered several other options (all considerably more expensive), but by the end of the day all reservations within Yosemite were was pulled off the site, showing that there is no reservation available.

We have already paid for our non-refundable plane tickets ($1200) as well as for our car rental ($215), and at this point we are left without any accommodation. The company refuses to take responsibility for their mistake and does not offer any solution to our situation.
The company is scam!!! Please submit complain at bbb.org and at Attorney General for New Jersey http://www.state.nj.us. Do not trust the company. Any positive comment here is most likely from employee.

A quick look at google, and this posted yesterday on complaints forum!

I booked a hotel for 13 nights in hawaii and after 2 weeks they send me a e-mail saying that there was a problem with there site and the hotel was unavailable a that time. I called the hotel and they confirmed my reservation. gta hotel w'ont honor the price that the web site was listing the hotel. p.s. gta hotel cancelled the hotel reservation the next day I called them and said I had confirmed with the hotel.

I've been a frequent visitor to this forum for a while, mainly in search for useful information on that notorious gtahotels.com website. I, too, had been on a hunt for some really good deals for my upcoming trip, and usually ended up with them having the best deals on the net. Don't know when I started being suspicious about them, but all your posts in this forum have helped a great deal so I finally made my mind up and started the booking process. After all, there was 50% chance that things would work out well

All I can report for now is that I completed my booking and I got an amazingly good deal for the hotel I wanted, and that it said "Miki Travel London allotment" on my booking confirmation. I seem to recall that Miki Travel is quite a renowned travel agent, so now I am kinda relieved. However, I am still going to call the hotel in a couple of days and check back with them.

Miki are a hotel wholesaler who contract the hotels then sell them onto companies like GTA hotels. Your hotel may not have your reservation when you call in a couple of days, it depends on when GTA send the booking to Miki and when MIki send the hotel the booking details.

The company I work for don't tend to send the bookings through to hotels until around 2 weeks before clients arrive.
