I still am hearing of people that have used them. Don't let it ruin your surprise. The beauty is you tried and they screwed up.

I still can't find someone offering a better deal.
The site Skoosh or something is close but breakfast isnt provided.

If these issues can be explained, I'm willing to hear more. But the fact is, people are going around the net saying they are Gulliver's Travel, which they are not.

Still no resolution from www.gtahotels.com I have rung the London office several times today and they just say Gozde will ring me from Turkey but I have been in all day and no call.

I would warn anyone not to book with this company based on my experience.

I have received the following e-mail from Customer Services www.gtahotels.com :

Dear PK,

Further to my e-mail, I would like to update you regarding your reservation.

We get the confirmation from our provider that your reservation will be confirmed at original hotel which is Sheraton Dubai Creek. However, we are waiting for the final written confirmation. If you call the hotel, they may still can not find the reservation because we are still negotiating with our provider. I will advise you after everything is settled up.

I also have a request from you. We realized that you are sending posts to some forum pages like www.tripadvisor.com and www.moneysavingexpert.com . Please be advised that we have a provider between Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel which means that we do not have a direct contract with this hotel. Your reservation seemed confirmed by our provider on our system and everything was fine. However, after the reservation confirmed, our provider advised us that due to a technical error on their side, the reservation made for Sheraton Dubai Creek has gone through Queens Hotel which is certainly unacceptable. Please be advised that we were not aware of this situation like you since our provider advised us about this issue after the reservation confirmed and finalized. Therefore we as www.gtahotels.com are not the ones who are responsible for this mistake. But we have to solve and fix this problem not to make our customers unsatisfied. Therefore we request from you to send a new post to these websites that we are trying to do our best to resolve this issue. We are verry sorry for all the inconveniences caused.

I have used gtahotel.com many times and not had a problem. I had always thought they were the consumer direct part of Gullivers Travels - disappointing but very interesting thread.

You should not have to go through all this hassle.

As a punter you go on their website and see a hotel and a price. Once they confirmed your selection of the Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel with a printable voucher (which I assume they did in your case) it is for gtahotels to honour their contract with you. If they have backroom problems it should not be an issue for the customer.

Again I refer to my message above (no 12) where gtahotels clearly state……….

“Your booking with us will then be confirmed and we will not change your accommodation or the rate – we guarantee it.”

If they are not as good as their word they are not reputable or reliable.

They are nothing to do with Gullivers (GTA). Octopus Travel and Need A Hotel are the distribution companies for GTA, both have consumer sites and travel agent sites

I will be avoiding GTAHotels.com like the plague. Too bad for Gulliver's Travel. People are posting ALL over the Internet its the same company. Those posts are probably similar to the above, people from GTAhotels.com making these claims.

I would be not concerned about getting my night at a hotel, I'd be more concerned about the possible identity theft and who knows how these guys are using your credit information.

I registered on this site specifically so I could thank you for answering the question - "is gtahotels.com legit" or "is gtahotels.com a scam" - and telling me about complaints concerning gtahotels.com - now I will not have to review gtahotels.com because I know the truth about gtahotels.com. Obviously, gtahotels.com is a morph of otel.com, which is just as obviously a big scam too. The prices may look good at otel.com and gtahotels.com but be sure that I am staying away. Thanks again!

I'm having problems with GTA hotels too.

I booked a "single room" in a hostel in London. When I got there I showed the hostel my email (that said "Single Room") and they showed me the email GTA had sent to them. That one said "8 person dorm". I have been in email contact with GTA for a couple of weeks now. Here is one of the latest:

Dear Mr Douglas

Thank you for the email received.

Kindly to informed you are booked foar single room without facilities and this hostel has not single rooms with private facilities. The hostel provide a dorm according to the booking made and that is why the will not refund any night not use by the you. Then the booking will be charge in full.


In the meantime should you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us...

They seem to be confused in the same way as they were before: their troubles with their providers are nothing to do with me.

Also, unbelievably, they have repeatedly said on the phone that "single room" actually means a single bed in a dorm. Even though their website says, on the front page drop down box "single room (1 person)". I don't know what they think a dorm room is. 8 people to a bed?!

I want a refund!

Well I called them again and questioned them. The GTA in their name stands for Gullivers Travels.

The person who spoke to me on the phone denied that Metin Altun is the owner, but not before asking me where I got the information and then pronouncing - and sounding familiar with - the name in a different way from me.

And then they confirmed that they also own otel.com or whatever the other business is.

And they still won't give me a refund!
