A pity I don't have access to a PC to attempt it..
  • I have spent most of the day trying to get my Linksys Vonage VOIP Router unlocked. I have the RT31P2 from Staples. When I log into the Broadband Adapter - I see that under the Status>Voice Tab it is "Voice Version: 2.0.13(LIVd) Customization: Customized". Under the Status>Router Tab it is " Firmware Version: 1.28.00, Feb 21 2005.

I have set up tftp on my desktop. My desktop IP is 192.168.1.2 and I have set up the VOIP router as 192.168.1.1 - I have not been using an intermediate router or any other laptop/desktop. Just my own desktop plugged directly into the VOIP router. I have set it up as DHCP.

I can log into the VOIP router fine. Changed the password.

Switched off the firewall on my desktop, but cannot get it to see the tftp server on my desktop.

I know that my desktop can see the tftp serve on itself as i used dos to test it.

What on earth am I doing wrong here? Is the version already updated to one that is unlockable?

What do people think of the alternative instructions that require me to plug in a phone - see the top of this page: http://www.galaxycore.com/

Or is it something to do with opening ports on the router??

I've been setting up networks for a while, but this has me flummoxed.

    Hi there,
I don't have one of these devices, but I would try reading this thread - I think it may help you.

Any chance you can run through how you managed to get both those providers working with the PAP2 on one phone. I have sipgate set up for incoming calls (as they offer local area number for incoming calls) and I have voipcheap.co.uk for outgoing calls just as a test. both work fine seperate but when I try to forward calls from line 2 (sipgate.co.uk) to line 1 (voipcheap) all I get is a "this number is not accepting calls at the moment".

I have read elsewhere that this is because sipgate do not allow sip forwarding , but you say you have it working which means I'm missing something. Can you provide any help please?

I'm not a technophobe so shouldnt be too bad for you :D (I'm savvy with networking, port forwarding and routers etc).

    Cheers

    Allan

doh seems you dont have a PAP2 ignore me Steve sorry.
  • Hi Allan,
I do have a PAP2 - the trick was to load a different software on it from a Sipura 1001. I currently have version 3.1.5 on it and it works fine.
It was a while ago when I did this so I cannot recall the exact process, but everything I needed was on this weblink.

Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.
  • Not all 387 no, but quite a bit of it, the thread is 3 months old so just checking if there are any new updates. :)
