    Not sure, they're listed as:

British Gas - Online + 1 Month Free
British Gas - Discounted Electricity + 1 Month Free Elec

BTW, the alleged savings were 14% and 13% respectively (not the 18% I said in my last post).

Mind you, the 'one month free' part to each tariff must amount to 8.5% of the saving.
Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
    They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").

Am I right in thinking that you don't get the free month until after being a customer for a whole year?

Thats correct, they would not supply me as my meter point has 10 digits as opposed to 8.

I have switched to equigas and their electric it looks cheap to me as the price is constant no daily charge and pay for what you use!

I have also just had NPower knocking at my door but I told them I was not prepared to change until Martin told us to.He asked which company I was with & I said Southern Electric(for both) & he admitted that they were a good company which I thought was very honest of him.He did mention that NPower would be giving their customers £50 annually as an incentive to join up!

    Hi Marsha

I'm with Southern Electric too for both with economy7 and direct debit monthly. If you find anyone good enough to switch to could you please let me know? or anyone else whos on SE too. I've been with SE for a few years now I'm not sure how much mines going to be effected yet I've not had any letters from SE and I can't work it out. I've been paying £29 gas and £39 elec per month for the last couple of years at least so I'm just hoping its not going to hit me too badly
    Thanx

TIME TO SWITCH! Now is the best time to switch.

I've changed my recommendation. While i don't think prices will stop rising, i think this is the most level playing field we are going to get!

There's a completely new article about switching on the site and now i've pushed providers into giving us greater cashback.

    Cheers Martin!!
  • I've just checked my electricity tariff with energyhelpline.com, it says British Gas would be cheap for my region (Southern) but I don't think the tariffs show the latest BG price rise.

PS I'm with Utlity Warehouse (high user) at the moment, who have just increased their prices.

energyhelpline.com are using BG's latest prices. They are usually one of the best for electricity but not for gas.
