Just moved my parents from British Gas to N-Power via the Cashback link on MoneySaving Expert so thats £12.50 Cashback plus a saving of £158.00 by switching suppliers - Well Pleased!!
Thanks again, Martin!!0 -
it never crossed my mind that having different suppliers for each fuel could be cheaper, and it is - thanks martin!!52% tight0

it's worth trying a couple of comparison sites - energyhelpline couldn't do the switch for most of the cheaper gas suppliers for me (i did switch electricity with them though), so i looked at the ukpower one and they could do the switch online so i get the cashback for each fuel and the ease of applying online.52% tight0

Talk about taking things for granted. I have changed a few times and recently my current provider, scottish power has always been cheaper. But I checked today because of the new e-mail and I could not believe my eyes!!! I coyuld save 17% by switching to Bristish gas, who I thought were the most expensive after all the recent price hikes.... Got that wrong did'nt I?
I don't like change much, as it messes up the direct debits and then the old supplier will want a chash settlement, but I can save £101 a year so maybe it's worth it.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -

HI
I could save 29% cahnging from powergen to BGas.
The man at energyhelpline said he had had lots of calls from MSE users.
Many thanks Martin0 -
If you do change suppliers and end up in credit, remember to ask for your balance back.
We changed from npower earlier this year and - although they sent us a final bill with a credit balance - I had to ring up to request a refund.0 -

it's worth it i'd say. british gas was much cheaper for electricity for me. 17% i think, and then atlantic were 9% cheaper for my gas. the dual fuel deals weren't as good, british gas were the cheapest by 9% but still not as cheap as doing them separately with the 2 suppliers. i will save more than a hundred pounds compared to staying with scottish power, i'm really chuffed :-) i owe about a hundred to my old supplier because my DD was set too low, but it's worth the payout i reckon, they'd have wanted their hundred back anyway, plus they'd have still been charging me a hundred more than the other companies will.52% tight0
