Martin seems to think now is abou the best time. You would have to decide if the company you are looking to switch to has put up their prices recently or is just about to. You could check here for some info on price rises.

Thanks for that I will take a look.0 -
Following :money: email I decided to check energyline to see how much I could save. However I am currently on the Powergen online dual fuel tarriff and it won't let me compare with this as my current supplier. As I don't have my usage figures to hand it won't work properly for me. Am I missing something?

I'm with Seeboard dual fuel. I choose the standard rate from the drop down on both gas and electric and then a small box came up to tick if it was dual fuel. It will probably be the same for your supplier. I compared like for like, but it actually works out a smaller rate if I go to differnt companies so on this occasion dual fuel isn't the cheapest option - worth getting a comparison for both together and then separately.Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0

If you also click on the ukpower.co.uk link above it will also allow you to go throught to energyline and one of the first boxes is for dual fuel. Once you have compared dual fuel comparrisons you can scroll down and click on gas and then electricity only. Using this information I will actually save a further £96 ontop of the dual fuel saving by going to separate companies.Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0

I tried comparisons using uswitch and energyhelpline.com and they both recommend London Energy EDF (currently with Powergen) as the best suppiler for my needs - but the amount they say I can save varies enormously - uswitch reckon £125 per year and energyhelpline reckon £13 a year - how can that be when the tariffs and company they recommend are the same?

There are two London Energy tariffs, one is London Energy Online and the other simply London Energy. Which do they say?0 -

They are both exactly the same prices for the Online Dual Fuel Deal with London Energy - No Standing Charge.

Good question! I switched with Energyhelpline and I certainly found their figures agreed with my own when I worked it out with a calculator. Are you using your actual usage figures to get a comparison or you just using what you are paying?0
