  • Does anyone remember BCCI? there are similar signs
  • Take care, Rember BCCI?
  • Applied 27.07.05. Password not received until 11.08.05.
Sent an e-mail asking where it was - no reply. Sent another e-mail with my concerns about who I was trusting my money with. Received a very nice reply apologising and reassuring me of their commitment.

Had problems logging on, as I was sent 2 passwords. Have a direct line to IT: 02072 011073. An extremely helpful lady sorted this out.

Told that the first electronic payment would take 8 days, took 9. But now all others take 3 days.

Each time I have rung customer services I have spoken to very polite and effective employees - and it's a freephone no. (Bit strange hearing 'Certainly Miss', 'Of course Miss' at the end of every sentence).

Very happy now after a slow but polite start.

I applied in June, have opened the account with £50, however, I haven't been sent all the documentation that I need to access it online. I have phoned four times, each time been assured that I would be called back, and I haven't been. I am now going to write to them to close the account and get my money back, but frankly am not hopeful that they will respond. The operators to whom I've spoken have all been able to see the account, but the organisation seems completely unable to deal with a simple request for passwords and the like. Will keep my money with a company I know in future.
  • Hello There.

Just to say I opened an account last month and had no
    problem at all.

    Best Wishes !

  • It took a while to set up my account, the account details arrived a couple of weeks before the passcode. Now it is working fine although crediting money to the account by direct debit takes about 10 days. I think ICICI need to get their act together on this as it appears that each credit requires them to set up a completely new direct debit instruction. Thats what takes the time! Anybody else had similar experience?
  • I applied when Martine first recommended and ICICI met my expectations. They said it would take so many days and it was not far wrong. They never under achieved.
I have transfered money for a second time (the first time takes some time) and the service is good.
I have also applied for a Cahoot account and they are also taking there time to set up.
I feel we are used to going into the bank and expecting the account to be up and running the next day. This does not seem to apply for the internet.

It seems to be a common problem, although it doesn't affect everyone. If it helps, you can make transfers into your account by BACS, which takes 3 working days. ICICI's sort code is in your 'welcome' e-mail.
  • Why on earth bother with the above slings and arrows, (7/10/05) when our very own well known Portman BS ( https://www.portman.co.uk 08450450116) via their branch accounts only mind you- will give 5.10 % gross on balances above £1K for the next 6 months,(it includes a bonus of 0.6%! it then drops to 4.5% ) however it is a 90 day notice account.. so enjoy it for 3 months 'til January & then give notice.( all this calm & peace for just 5 quid less per ten grand savings must be a bargain) :T

You ask if the ICICI account has got any better,
Well when I first opened the account it was a little slow to get started (around 3 weeks ) but then it carmed down and in the past week or so I have sent a £6000 Cheque by post and a further £500 over the net to boost my savings up to 10k and it has all gone through and into my Account without any bother.
Admited the money was in my ICICI account three days before my Cheque was taken from my other bank but that's all to my good. It looks like they are now up and working.
