    Any particular reason?
    It was getting quite big.

Hi, The reason for closing of the old thread is I wanted to redo the vote to see if things has changed. It's important to have one focus place for the discussion so people can see whats going on - so its moved here.

Really? It was only 8 pages (at 40 posts per page) - I'm sure there are longer ones around.

Makes sense - would it be worth putting a backlink in your first post to the old thread for newcomers who come along later and may not realise it exists?
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries
  • account took a long time to set up, but now going fine i have moved money back and forth several times with no hickups, a bit dissapointed the rates come down though i supposed it was to good to be true

I opened an account right at the beginning and apart from receiving two, different, passwords have had no problems at all.
  • Wouldn't touch this with a bargepole unless you want to see your money disappear. Remember that lovely Indian bank BCCI? Similar or what?
Thousands (mainly UK Indian imigrants) lost tens millions £'s to an area where there are no sophisticated financial controls to prevent fraud - if an interest rate sounds too good to be true there's a damn good chance that it is too good to be true.

Care to post evidence that there is ANY link between BCCI and ICICI other than they started up in the same country?

Care to post evidence that this account is not subject to sophisticated financial controls to prevent fraud?
  • The application section was fine but the password was not and has not been delivered. Repeated email has produced delayed responses and the claims that a password has been couriered to me.

I have still not got my password and frankly I don't think I will ever receive one.

    Rascalator,
How long has it been? The passwords do seem to take a long time to arrive.
You seem to be having an identity crisis, btw. :rotfl:
  • I applied for the ICICI account at the end of June, sent them the initial £1 cheque early July and it cleared 14 days later ... then heard nothing for over 2 months. At the end of September my userid finally arrived by email, and the password got here by snailmail yesterday. After all this delay and having heard of all the problems that others have had, I cannot bring myself to entrust any more of my money with them at this time. My existing Cahoot savings account is still paying 5.3%, so I've no incentive to move and risk my money.
