They knew about the offer and wanted to know which website I'd found it on.
The correct answer to that question is: "Your own, or course!".

If you use 0800 015 0162 it takes you straight through to their Glasgow call centre. The phone was actually answered by a human being on the second ring! They always seem much more switched on there and know all about it.

Thanks Kanchhelskis, without seeing your post I would have missed out on the 6% upgrade. I rang today, and after three lots of transfering of my call, I got to a gentleman who upgraded my Platinum Plus, to a Platinum Plus Plus. :j :j :j
As others have said, you are not upgraded automatically, you have to apply.

Made a Call to upgrade on 9 Jun at 7pm. Today received the confirmation by post. Service seems much improved than the Cash ISA application.

Thanks for this number - just rung it to get my transfer and you're right, it was answered straight away by a chirpy Scottish lass. She was very switched on and the home insurance was more of a soft sell ran a hard one! I shall use this number again

Has any exisiting Classic Plus customer got the increase?

I've already (without even knowing) got the Classic Plus account and called up to be told that it's for new customers or upgraded accounts only.

What a way to treat existing customers. Apparently I've been enjoying the advantages of the "Plus" account for some time, whatever those advantages may be!

hi - have a look at previous posts - existing customers (including me) have got it but you have to request it - i would suggest phoning up again and telling them that existing customers are allowed the additional 2%-good luck

Yes. So I'm afraid you've been talking to one of the many LTSB customer service mis-advisers.
Request confirmation in writing. When I asked how I would know that the interest rate had been increased, I was told that I would need to wait until the next statement and see the increase in interest then!!! I got the long face treatment when I said I would prefer something a little more formal.

Thanks. I called again and was switched over without any problem. I explained my frustration at the previous 15 minute call getting nowhere and the chap didn't sound surprised!

I asked and pushed for some confirmation of the change but didn't get anywhere. I was told that I'd see it on my next statement. I assume he meant the interest amount and not the interest rate percentage.
