Yep, same for me. Had to go through to account upgrade dept where of course they try to sell you the fee paying accounts. Lloyds are ****though. Have just paid in a very hefty cheque today (to pass through) and was naturally invited into the side office to discuss my requirements. Was in the mood, so spent an enjoyable 20mins while my personal banker tried to match my plans for the cash. Not a hope, but he didn't even mention this new account let alone advising me how to upgrade. If he didn't know about it, he should have done! How many customers will be sitting there thinking they either can't upgrade or that it will be automatic. I love this site Martin!

    Grrr.

Just got off the phone with LTSB.

Me: I'd like to upgrade my current Classic Plus paying 4% to 6% please
Them: Certainly.... <typing>. I just have to speak to my manager....
    [minutes pass]
Them: You need to go into your local branch and get them to set it up.
Me: I've moved. My local branch is 300 miles away. In addition I've spoken to people who have managed to do this over the phone
Them: You were told by branch staff that you could do it here?
Me: No - Other customers who have managed to do this - from MSE.
Them: Oh. I need to speak to my manager...
    [more minutes pass]
Them: I'm terribly sorry. You can do it - I'll need to put you through to <mumble> department. I wasn't told about this, I'm sorry.... One moment and I'll put you through...

I was then put through to someone who upgraded it to 6% and half-heartedly (to me) tried to upgrade me to a fee paying account.

I left feedback at the end (you have to ask the last rep you speak to) of the call mentioning educating their front-line CSRs.

Just to make sure a few of us haven't missed something - I presume you didn't have a Classic Plus account prior to this?

Sorry, I was just a "Classic" before.

(I'm going to use that line on the weekend too! "And now, I'm a Classic Plus, baby!")

I've just tried to do it online (already have a classic) and pressed submit and it came up with an error message, saying unable to fulfil the request, please try later.

I hit the backspace key (stupid: I know you can't for internet banking) and got thrown out. Signed back in and no option to upgrade. Ideas?

Maybe it took it then, even though it gave an error? Does it call your account 'Classic' or 'Classic Plus' now?

When I tried it first I accessed it via 'my offers'. When I logged in again, it was gone from 'my offers' but then I found the upgrade link up with my accounts list. I did it successfully from there.

Another happy bunny here! :j :D

Also asked whether I'd looked at the other "excellent value" accounts on offer and was I also interested in a savings account (ermmm no, I just moved £7k out of your accounts :rotfl: )

All in all, very easy to upgrade :T

You can also ring 0800 015 5000 which goes through to new accounts (use first option) and they can upgrade your account from there ;)
