  • Hmmm I see, but my switch-request confirmation email makes no mention of the free wine offer either. However the guy I spoke to today didn't dispute my entitlement - of course he could just be fobbing me off. It still remains to be seen whether this code materialises in the coming months! I will report back with any news.

i switched in the summer, and received the email with wine voucher just before xmas, the oriinal email i got about the switch made no mention of it, so was surprised when the email arrived, as I got my wine just before xmas

Thanks knithappens, I can't say I was terribly surprised to read this! It directly contradicts what uSwitch have told me!

    I've emailed them as follows:

"I have spoken to a recipient of the free wine offer over at the "MoneySavings Expert" website forum, who, like me, linked via the MoneySavings Expert website and they say that their "confirmation of switch" emails made no mention of the free wine offer which directly contradicts what you have told me:

"However this maybe an oversight if you have your confirmation email and it refers to the free wine case offer. Please forward this on to me and we will have the voucher sent to you."

Please explain why they have received their free wine case when their confirmation emails makes no mention of it.

Why I am being asked for a confirmation email which makes mention of the free wine offer? No-one else apparently has received such an email, i.e. a confirmation of switch, which also confirms or refers to the wine offer."

I'll paste their reply when I get it.

I telephoned uSwitch just on their free phone number to see what had happened, they tell me that I linked to the uSwitch site from the Yahoo search engine. Unfortunately, I can't verify myself as I don't keep my browsing history from that far ago. (3.10.09)

Thinking about it, I can't imagine that uSwitch are lying, why would they? The person on the phone was polite and courteous. The MoneySavings Expert site is also part of the deal, which strengthens my view.

All I can say is - keep the record of your browsing history!
  • This is a con, i receieved my email with a voucher today when i tried to claim it it said it had already been redeemed, phoned uswitch and they said i was not entitled to it and the email was a mistake i promtly recived another email 10 mins later confirming it. This is a con employees of uswitch are claiming or selling these codes and fobbing customers off, like everyone else i used the link on this site and recieved the confirmation email, now they are saying it is supposed to say somewhere in it that i am entitled to the wine which it does not. But no were in the conditions does it say the email must contain this information just says "confirmation email".

If i dont get my wine ill take em the small claims court, this is clearly a scam I would liek MSE to get involved and investigate this complaints

    Yours sincerely

    Hi EssexMum

Click on the "Favourites" icon, and you will then see three tabs:

    "Favourites", "Feed" and "History",

    Click on "History".
  • Hi Pete,

Thanks, yes, that much I do know, but I would need proof I navigated directly from MSE's "time to switch" link page to the "landing pages/free-wine-offer" uSwitch page... I'm not sure how to do that. Of course they're all there in Sunday's history, just in aphabetical - not chronological - order. Eugh! this is getting very annoying; I could have switched with any of the others, but I chose uSwitch purely because I preferred their offer and now I wish I'd gone for one offering cashback. AND I had read this thread beforehand - I just thought the problems had all been ironed out by now. How stupid do I feel? I could have had £30 cash to spend on some decent wine instead!

Max annoying! For me I use Firefox where the pages are listed chronologically, but I only keep 3 months history, so just out of my "window".
