uswitch are lying cheating scum and i for one will never use their "service" again, sue me for slander? go ahead. a**holes, lets get this out so everybody knows what a bunch of cowboys you are!

to say i didn't use their link is ridiculous, and quite frankly a low down rotten trick to try to weasle out of their end of the bargain, i now see loads have had trouble with them, shame i didn't know this before i took up their "offer".

ok, you got away with not giving me what you owe me, but you have lost me as a future customer, and every member of my friends and family and anyone else i can find that will listen! you don't deserve to still trade.

Yes I totally agree, same story here and when I phoned the electricity company who I was to switch to (First Utility) they told me they were nothing to do with Ucon (sorry I mean Uswitch). Be open and wear the stripey suits and masks like regular crooks do instead of hiding behind "Terms and Conditions" that are lost between pages and pages so you can get away with your underhand sneaky dealings
  • Hi Ppauly, sorry to hear it's happened to you.

Yet another customer being branded a liar. If this keeps on happening, then there must be something wrong with the way uSwitch track their online customers.

I called them again and this time the phone operator agreed with Ms Elaine Markey (as above post) who claims I didn't use the link, so I asked them to provide me with a written report of their record of my browsing with them, taken from the day I switched. The guy said he was looking at it, so he would be able to send me a copy. He took my email address but nothing arrived. I'm sick of speaking to them now, they are just fobbing me off. I wish there was some way of PROVING I did follow the link.
  • I too have had problems getting uSwitch to cough up the wine. I switched through them back in August using the MSE Wine link and having heard nothing by December started chasing them up. When I called I was told I hadn't used the correct link (which I know I did) but when I asked for proof of this was told that uSwitch only keep detailed tracking records for 3 months (convenient considering they tell you to wait 3 months for the wine)!

After 20 minutes on the phone the customer services manager wouldn't back down despite having admitted that it was poor that she couldn't prove me wrong and that the confirmation email was misleading with a massive banner at the bottom for virgin wine. Following this I sent a letter to head office complaining and amazingly they sent a wine code as a "gesture of goodwill" though still maintaining that I hadn't used the correct link. The wine arrived today so I'd say if you know you're entitled to it keep fighting as it worked for me in the end!

I too a beginning to believe that this is a scam. I am on the list for the free case of wine and despite having been promised the email with the voucher code I have still not received it. I have made in excess of 7 calls to uSwitch, they confirm I am on the list and their excuses are: "the man who deals with the voucher codes is away/on holiday/day off"...." I will email directly the man who deals with the vouchers and he will call back" (did he hell), "we are waiting for another batch of wine codes from Virgin".

I switched in September 2009 and the main reason was saving money AND the free case of wine. I have been asked to call back in a couple of weeks.

This is shameful from a company I thought was reputable and promoted on this site.
  • This weekend cashback sites are offering £110 for a dual fuel switch to Scottish Power. Only if you get a quote via the link from these sites SP will return a quote and not include its online energy saver 9 tariff. The "best" quote will be Discounted energy which is over £100 a year more expensive than saver 9. Go direct to SP and thus not be eligible for the £110 and saver 9 is included in the best quotes.
    Shabby, very shabby scottish power.

  • Hi

Recently had the same problems as everyone else regarding USwitch not coming up with the case of wine.

I took the simple route, i filed a small claims case against them for the cost of the wine £50 and costs etc.... They replied right away and i got my check last weekend.

Would advise everyone else to do the same, need any help with the Particular of Claim just message me. After they recieve a few of these i am sure they will start to honour there promise.

I signed up for my free 12 bottles of wine in September 2009, waited patiently for my Gas and Electricity to be switched to my new supplier, the last one being at the end of December 2009. When I hadn't heard anything from Virgin Wines I chased up U-switch in March 2010 only to be told that I wasn't eligable as I had connected through a google link.

How can this be if I clicked on all of the links provided by both M.S.E. and U-switch?

My conclusion U-SWITCH YOU ARE NOTHING MORE THAN A BUNCH OF CON ARTISTS! Get you act together as other price comparison web sites will benefit from your failures.

Very easy if anyone has ever visited that site previously using the computer you used, especially if you failed to clear history, cookies, etc. ;)

So I've carefully read about following the link from MSE to uSwitch, along with the numerous complaints in this thread. Now I discover that the "best" plan for me is one where I have to call uSwitch on 0800-something rather than switch online. I notice that the Ts & Cs for the offer don't actually state that the switch has to be made online, only that it must be made via the uSwitch website.

Any comments, anyone? (Apart from this being a long shot, that is!)
    Cheers,
    Chris
