  • i've been waiting 4 months, spurred on with your post, i telephoned them myself today and was told i was due to a voucher and that 4 months is the time required to qualify(?).
  • I switched my gas & electricity through U switch in Oct 09. I believed I had gone through the MSE site but when I hadn't received my voucher I contacted them. They told me I had gone through Google? After about 3 phone calls I was told I would qualify and received an email saying that the qualification period was 4 months, when I pointed out today my first payments were in Nov 09 I was told my details would be sent to the relevent dept for processing the voucher and I would hear something in the next few days. I'm not hopeful but you never know.
  • Well I'm glad I read this forum before going ahead and switching and expecting these companies to be true to their word and their offers to be genuine. Tomorrow I'm going to video record myself using the MSE link to access the uswitch offer and fill out the form etc, then when I get accused of using google and not the correct link I can go to town on these cowboys! I'll let you know how it goes. Cheers.
  • Been chasing mine tonight. They aren't keen on handing it over. I have offered them the screen grab and they have offered to send the codes, but not received them yet!
  • Blimey!! Can't believe all these.
Switched, got wine, no problem at any stage.
And you don't have to pay the £6.99 delivery as someone just said.
    Very nice wine too.
  • Eventually received the vouchers and went on the Virgin site only to be told they had already been redeemed, however after another call and email to Uswitch was issued with new ones.
Contacted Virgin and hooray they were accepted, went for the £50 case as the extra £20 for the 'posh' stuff is no better.
Now have tracking number and am awaiting delivery

The problems are not perculiar to Uswitch. I changed suppliers with SimplySwitch, attracted by the promise of £35 amazon vouchers. The whole process is very unclear. The impression given all along is that vouchers will be issued once the service goes live. It is not clear that the application for vouchers can be made before this and must be made within 60 days of the original application with SimplySwitch. They have separated the application for vouchers and the claim for vouchers. The process is misleading and in my mind deceitful. I can however accept oversight on my part however irritating. But the response from SimplySwitch when the matter is raised is appalling. I for one will never use them again. If they don't want to deliver don't advertise the enticement.

I switched at the start of December; have just emailed uSwitch now who are adamant I didn't go through the correct link and are saying the link details I have just given - from this website - are incorrect!! They are saying I'm not eligible but I KNOW I am. I've told them how disapppinted I am, I thought they were supposed to be a reputable company, but this seems like a bit of a con for half of the people who have applied!!

    Edited to add:

I am now being told that the money saving expert link is "wrong" and this link does not entitile me to the free wine! I've just said that I'll let MSE know they're apparantly redirecting people to the wrong page... Hmmmmm! Bit of a farce if you ask me, it seems like a lucky dip as to whether you get the wine or not. The thing is, I don't even drink anymore (can't deal with the hangovers haha!) but it's the principle - and wine makes decent Christmas presents ;-)

    Edited again to add:

After asking whether I should let Money Saving Expert know that their link is apparantly "wrong", I am now being told that the manager has decided to make an "exception" and they are awaiting the codes next week when they will forward me mine. Bit of a palava to get there, but I think it's really unfair that they are claiming people who DID got through the MSE link are not entitled. At the end of the day, I only knew about the free wine because I went through the MSE link!!

I have had problems with simplyswitch which i went through to switch gas and electricity. After 10 weeks of not hearing anything i contacted them and they said they would investigate and asked for my address details. Two weeks later no response so i e-mailed again and they asked for the same details!! They then responded with no mention of the switch and what was happening but the fact that i can no longer get the amazon vouchers as the time frame had expired but you can't claim until your switch has taken place!

Very bad customer service by simplyswitch and now im left in limbo as they won't cancel the switch and im sure i could get a better deal now after the 3 months ago it was when i did it. What do i do???
