After four months with Eon I still haven't had my first Bill. I have submitted my own readings and there are two meter reader readings on line and still no bill. Is anyone else still waiting on their first bill?
  • If it helps, I went live with them on March 20th, four months later, July 20th, I received a bill from them.

I'm sure your bill will come any day, depending on the exact date you went live...

Gas went over on 20 March and Electric on 26 March, fingers crossed I'll get my bill shortly.
  • With those dates, I'd suggest calling them up, check that they take into account the meter readings around end of May/early June, and ask them to produce a bill. They should be able to... You'll then have to log into the online account to view/print it.

A value for a bill appeared on line this morning but no Bill. So i had to ring them up to find out what was on it. The estimate they used for 1st june was under so they had estimated that I had used 550KWH gas and 100KWH of electric more at the higher rate than I should have used. I had to beg them to regenerate the bill using the correct readings. Apparently it will take 5-10 working days for new bill to appear.

By the way according to EON CS their system ignores all of the extra readings you add online it only takes into account the start and end reads and evenly spreads everything in between.

Sorry one more question. Do I need to wait for the revised bill to be completed before I start the switch? as I don't want to lose the discount on the last 4 months.

To anyone on the E-On price plans...

I got my bill, finally, 4 months after switching to E-On. I called them up pretty much immediately, to query the way that they had calculated my bill.

On June 1st, prices increased (as we all know) - and so I went online and gave them a reading of both elec and gas, so that they knew what my usage was on the old prices. BUT, they decided to use estimates, ignore the readings, and thus they calculated that I'd used 50 gas units (510 kWh) more at the newer higher price than reality.

I called them up, they saw that I had given them the readings, said they'd send me a new bill - and I saved myself a staggering £2 - just by calling them up.

I wonder if anyone else out there could be in this trap - and potentially have lost out on more than £2...

PS I know that £2 isn't much, but anything that we can avoid paying to these companies is worth it - we pay them enough as it is!

    Hi,
I had exactly the same experience. Wrote an email to tell them I had entered my own reading and they produced a new bill. I saved £5 on my new bill...

In my experience I would say you need to make the switch as soon after your latest bill as you can if you switch regularly. I think I can say most if not all of the suppliers I have used do not give any discounts on the final bills.

I changed to Eon online saver 5 in March (moved from EDF online version 3).

Martin was saying on GMTV this morning to move to a capped tarriff, would the Eon capped tarriff work out better than the Eon online saver 5?

How do I do a comparison when I have only been with a company for 3 months or so, or do I work on my edf figures as well to get an idea of what I use kilowatts for a year?

    Thanks
