E.ON v5 price increase.

When new E.On users sign up online, they have an option on the left hand side for Tesco Clubcard...
For me, it says that I've registered a card, but I don't know if it'll let you add a new card to it if you haven't already registered one. It won't even let me amend the card number...
Alternatively, call up E.On - I'm sure they can help you to get it added. 0845 059 9905 should help.Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...0 -
Here's another annoying piece of information I just found out from E.On...
I switched back in March, to this price plan, and thought that I'd get a bill after 3 months. But no, it seems that I won't get a bill until the end of July.
As a few people have pointed out, I can't change before the bill, otherwise I'll lose the 18% discount (online and direct debit and dual fuel) because I don't get the discounts on my final bill.
What a marvellous trap!
PS I didn't ask if I'd lose the discount on my previous usage if I stayed with E.On but switched to a different price plan... I'd cost me an extra £90 per year (18% increase on my current prices) if I opted for either of their capped deals (Price Protection Oct 2009 or Energy Saver v2)...Is it worth the risk of capping now, and paying 20% more for the next few months until prices rise, or will it be worth staying where I am with the hope that prices won't rise by £180 (40%) over the next year...
PPS I know that our electricity and gas usage is way below average, which is good news for us. However, the thought of it increasing so much that it costs us £700 per year scares me... If we were in a bigger property, using more gas/electricity and paying more, I can see why a lot of people can't afford gas/electricity...Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...0 -

I was told exactly the same thing, apparently they read my meter in April and didn't want to send me a bill for one months usage. So I have to wait till my meter is read again at the end of July for my 1st bill which will cover 4 months.0 -
If you have access online see when your meter was last read, if you could get away with it stick another £100 worth on this bill before switching you then get the 18% discount on that amount.Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0

What do you say to them when they next read the meter and find the actual reading is still less then the reading you gave 3 months ago.0 -
You say, "sorry you must have made a mistake last time, can you please not collect the next payments until my £118 credit is reduced to £0". No one is going to give you 72%APR on savings.Lets get this straight. I also switched to the Eon Saver Online 5 tariff a couple of months ago. I just got a letter yesterday from them saying "we noticed that the type of metering at your home isn't supported by your current deal. We apologise for any confusion this may have cause and have now moved you to out equivalent standard deal."
Except the "equivalent" deal has more expensive prices and has standard charges on top which my original tariff didn't have. I was also due a discount 15% (for using online management) and 6%for direct debit which it doesn't make clear will carry on.
The last straw was that they said that this would be effective 10 June 2008 - more than 3 weeks ago!
Absolutely shocking behaviour - I only switched because it worked out cheapest - and now it's not. What a waste of time. And still have no idea why my meter is odd - looks the same as others I've had in previous homes!0 -
