E.ON v5 price increase.

I changed to Eon online saver 5 in March (moved from EDF online version 3).
Martin was saying on GMTV this morning to move to a capped tarriff, would the Eon capped tarriff work out better than the Eon online saver 5?
How do I do a comparison when I have only been with a company for 3 months or so, or do I work on my edf figures as well to get an idea of what I use kilowatts for a year?
Thanks
Yes, just use your figures for energy used last year, or just enter what your monthly payments are to Eon.
Im on the online saver v5 and the Eon capped tarrifs are 30% more expensive than the tarriff i'm on now.0 -

I just checked and found the same the capped was 30% more so for now I think I will stay where I am unless I hear different.0 -

British Gas just annonced 35% increases yesterday. I hope for you that you don't regret staying put.Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0 -
Hi all
I'm on E-on version 5 for electricity only (I don't have Gas thank god!). As all of us who are on this particular tariff know E-on hit us with a price increase on 1st June when all the other suppliers were keeping their rates steady. My first question is, was it just version 5 which saw an increase?
Secondly, assuming E-on will shortly be announcing their own price increases accross the board following on from EDF and British Gas are those of us on version 5 about to be hit again for the second time is a couple of months?
For me the 1st June increase equated to approximately a 13% rise.
Also how can E-on justify putting their v5 prices up on 1st June if they left all it's other tarriffs unchanged? Surely E-on get the energy they supply to all their customers from the same place so why should some suffer price rises and not others?
Hope I'm making sense!0 -
hi canny,
to answer your question, version 5 was introduced in feb 08 after the latest price rise.
this was because v4 was going up in price in line with standard prices.
if you went onto v5 you paid the same price as v4 was before the feb increase.
this meant you avoided the price increase so when v5 went up in june it just meant you paid the same as everyone else had paid for the last 4 months.
weather the price goes up again i cant answer as eon havent yet announced a price increase but as a general rule online prices go up about 2 months after a standard rise.
hope this helps answer your question.
i work at eon so if you want anything else answered jus let us know.0 -
Just read this story:
http://www.sundaymail.co.uk/news/newsfeed/2008/08/03/not-if-but-when-78057-20682426/
E.On are quoted as saying that they have "No plans for increase but keeping a very close eye on the market."
I have until 14th August to revert back to my old Energy Online tariff so I really hope they don't wait too long to decide.....0 -

Thanks for the clarification. It's always good to have someone "in the know"0 -
So E-On aren't going to increase their prices, then? Let the fun begin!
PS Is it coincidence that our cooling off period of 14 days after the application was processed by the new company we're moving to ended yesterday. So now we have to leave E-On and move to another company. Let's just hope that the new company (Scottish Power) doesn't announce extortionate price rises as well...Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...0 -

Sorry but you must be bonkers if you think SP won't follow suit!!0 -
By the way according to EON CS their system ignores all of the extra readings you add online it only takes into account the start and end reads and evenly spreads everything in between.
Really?
I submitted online figures when I changed from Online V5 to PP17 so that it reflected the true picture at that time. I'll be well hacked off if they then just stick their finger in the air and pluck out a figure.
Thankfully I've been tracking my figures so I'll be able to 'raise the issue' with them should it arise.
Can any the Eon people on here shed any light if the same goes for product switches?
Thanks
