    Hey everyone!!

had a fantastic time at cricket yesterday evening. I was standing about 10 metres away from robert key, bumble and nasser hussain! Totally good stuff!

...'ark at HER! "Bumble"!?! That's former Lancashire and England batsman-turned commentator David Lloyd for the rest of us plebs

Vix, you're doing flower arranging? There's something very Ladette To Lady about that. :)

    Great loss Loops

Sorry Delly, I had no idea you'd dabbled with SW before. One tip though, don't be tempted to stock up on the spaghetti too much, try more speed foods. Beans are great for this though.

    Morning all.

Have decided to bite the bullet and see if you guys can keep me on track . . . please!

Have done a bit of reading on here this morning, and checked out the before and after pics - just amazing!

I have lost weight the WW way before - twice - but it's all appeared again. I crawled onto the scales this morning. First time in ages. But I knew I had to. They confirmed that I'm the heaviest I've ever been. What made me do it was a documentary I watched last night. A woman had a gastric bypass - she was the heaviest this hospital had ever done. She died a couple of days afterwards.

Now I know I'm not her size. But I could be. We all could be.

    I don't want to be.

Maybe this is the kick that I need.

I'm not doing any 'diet' as such at present. I'm sure if I just kick the chocolate, cake and pudding habit it could make quite a difference.

Today is day one. Thanks for reading :)

grr spent ages making a post, only for it to log me out and lose it all grrr:mad:

Anyway just saying that loopy has had a great loss this week, keep it up. PLG you look great as you are, we have to try to change them but if we can't we have to learn to accept them. I have rugby player shoulders, and thunder thighs (hopefully the thunder thighs will move though!)

Some great pics this week. was looking for some of me, but they seem to have gone missing:D

Anyway this is from 2 years ago, I have put on a stone and a half since then.

But is amazing what the right light and a ladder can do!

Would really like some done when I am down to my ideal weight.

Also reporting a 2lb loss this week, taking total weight loss to 10lb in 4 weeks. And I was slimmer of the week this week!

DeniseNZ, you know that you can do it, as you have done it before. This helps you more, but for someone like me, who has never really tried I find it rather hard. My biggest downfall is bread, I could eat toast til it is coming out of my ears! so I have totally cut that out.

On weigh in day I have a treat, be it a slice of chocolate fudge or a bowl of icecream. but I always eat out. That way I get my kick, but there is no left overs nagging me from the freezer or fridge.

Lois Lane - Thanks for the joke - it made me laugh out loud at work!:rotfl:

Feeling a little worse for wear today as managed to drink a whole bottle of wine after a few beers too. This not only makes me feel a little fragile today but when i drink i seem to have no control over what i eat. I smoke as well (only when im drinking)

Anyone got any tips on self control. I dont feel like an addict but just an addict to the habbit - which is just as bad i guess . . . .

    Morning everyone

I know lots of people weigh today so I will start by saying congrats to all the losers/STSers! :D And to everyone whose result isn't what they wanted, forget about it and move on - it was SO last week ;)

Procrastinator, is there anything we can do to help? Don't like to think of anyone struggling and getting disheartened, especially so early on. Please keep posting. I seem to remember you were 'going it alone' (could be wrong?) - do you have anyone you can call upon for some expert advice? (Other than us :p)

Hi Only just popping in I'm off to work in a minute and cannot access this site from work unfortunately.

I'm feeling a bit better, went swimming last night and although we didn't do any more lengths we did our 40 in less time than usual so I know I am improving. My clothes feel looser but not enough to drop a size so now they just look like they don't fit. I dont want to join a club my friend has done several and I know that way is not for me. She is supposed to be losing weight for her hols and I started at the same time as her but she is very demotivated as well at the moment.
I had hopped that by cutting out the rubbish and upping the excercise I would see a steady improvement but that is not the case. I make almost all my meals from scratch. Our family(4) are all veggie, I have tried to cut down on the cheese and up the beans for fibre and protein. I eat and enjoy salads at the moment using spinach as it is cheaper than lettuce. I eat raw veg and fruit as snacks and have a handful of brazil nuts everyday, I have allowed myself the odd birthcake for work collegue's birthdays but have mostly managed to avoid the extra treats brought in by boss and others. (I did have two cream cakes a couple of weeks ago.) I don't expect to lose great amounts this way but if you look at the chart you will see a great big 0 as my overall total.
You all seem to do so well and even after a slip you are back on track and making up. I feel I cannot post anything good so do not post. I haven't been on line the last couple of days and have only skim read 20 odd pages this morn. I should be free to catch up again on Sat so I will try read all the lovely post Sat morn and start next week afresh. I do so want to be able to join in. I used a link posted by someone on here (can't remember name) and it said I was obese. That did not feel good and I am determined to do something about it. I have a big 50 birthday in Sept and I want to feel good.
Sorry for the extra long post. Good luck to everyone.

Hi - just a quick check in.
Had some friends round for dinner last night and the main course was pork in a mustard and mushroom sauce (made by me with an eye on calories), but the pudding was a pain au chocolat pudding which my husband makes.... I had a tiny portion, then sat down after they went and worked out the calories for the recipe. Each average portion worked out at 640 calories each - it just makes you think about how easy it is to overeat (calorie wise) and not realise it!!!
We were chatting about calories etc over dinner (they are very old friends and we all battle with our weight!), and it was interesting as we all agreed that the calorie counting of old could lead you into a false sense of security as portions are so much bigger these days.
I asked her how much was a bag of crisps (for example of course - as a crispaholic I just have to say no these days!!!), and she said 150 or so and actually the big eat size bags are 270 now.
It's boring but I am realising that I really do have to look, weigh and count everything at the moment even though I know the calorific value of a lot of things, I think our potions have gone up so much that we can underestimate by a third very easily!

Anyway - after being very truthful on my record book - I had 2500 calories yesterday - but that was yesterday and as buddha below says - I'm staying in the now!

That joke was very funny Lois Lane - thank you.
