missyg - you are amazing. You never stop!0

i actually find the london ungerground quite easy (now anyway) I even helped an american with it! Probably sent him wrong ha.
Buses though, now i couldnt catch one of them if my life depended on it. Same with trains. I only know that its my local station to london vic and job done!
Pinklipgloss: go for the oyster card, i have one that i picked up for free. Never used it but i wish i had because in the underground they had turn style like things so that people with an oyster card could zoom through really quickly. Try and get a bite card aswell. 20% food places in train stations. Matt and i got 20% our burger king breakfast once ha. But it is handy if you want a drink and stuff.
Im sure people in london will be of more help than i!0 -
afternoon all - hope you are all having the same gorgeous weather as us peeps in the sarf.
For sw people - i've been making the sw carrot cake recipe usinig their scan bran product. These aren't cheap or easy to get hold of for me and i was wondering if there was any chance I could just substitute bran in the recipe, weight for weight and still be the same syns. I bet not:rolleyes: but worth asking. Also, kpc - you bake muffins: I want to get a mini muffin tray: would you recommend the silicone ones over the metal ones?
Pet - so sorry life is such a struggle at the mo. I would echo what others have said in terms of if there is any way we could support you more, please let us know. Despite stuff going on for you, you still entain us with your GSH. though I am beginning to pine for alphonse - I'm not a athlete hunk sorta gal.
For my birthday missy, I am planning a walk and picnic. I belong to a group of peeps who are all connected throught the uni course I met my other half on 6 yrs ago. It was a particularly great group of 'forever young' mature students, out of which good frienships have formed, including the tutors. Every year we have had a 5-6 mile walk in the countryside and picnic supplied by a member and OH who were caterers. This year, as low income, self suficient types they need to take a financial break from running it and nothing has been organised. So as my birthday falls on a saturday and is a mini significant one, I decide to take up the reigns and org it myself for my birthday. Everyone is very excited and each are bring something lucious to share foodwise. Can't wait:j :j It feels like a great celebration after the very difficult winter and spring I had and I always feel so happy when with this lot. Should be 20+ of us, so plenty to give me a piggy back for the 5 ish miles it will be...I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hmm PLG, well from your pic I would have said no more than 21, but you seem to have had quite a bit of life experience - you speak of 19 being "in your youth" and you've done a degree and lived here and there... so I know you are older than 21
You're no more than early to mid 20's though surely? And LOL Vix about the creams :rotfl:
My new mp3 player is a gonerhalfway through the second half while I was jogging it went up to FULL volume for no reason, and none of the buttons responded, then it cut out completely and I can't bring it back to life
That's the second one that's been killed off by my running
Suggs stop sulking and get that 5km time posted up!I can't believe my plodding around 10km would put anyone to shame let alone you! You're right about me being fitter than I realised though... I don't know what's been going on with me lately
Maybe it's the breakfasts?!
Birthday plans sound absolutely perfect BB! How lovely to have a group of so many friends to share it with you! Are they localish, or coming from all over the place?0 -
thanks missyg and vic, yes I feel very fortunate. They are all local to brighton and perhaps 20 miles around. When I moved to Brighton in 1999 I knew no one and spent my first birthday here completely alone. In fact the previous 10 birthdays to that had been rather sad, generally spent alone or just with my mum and dad as I'd been very ill and isolated by that. When I moved here I promised myself that would be the last birthday I spent alone, it was the only thing that got me through that day really. And it was, but this year will be amazing. Gosh I want to cry at the thought of so many people wanting to share my day:o . Going off to have a blub...I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0

awww missyg - your awesome!I'm 28 (I'll be 29 this October). However when I meet ppl they tend to think I'm much younger - it's always been that way. When I was talking about starting uni to my mum (years ago) a friend (who was with her at the time) thought I was refering to starting high school! :rotfl:
Bad luck with your mp3 players. Are you keeping them in your pocket? Perhaps they are getting bashed about too much as you run? I bought an arm strap for my iPod the other day - it only cost 6 pounds and is no probs running wise (I tried running last night - under the cover of darkness - just to check that I could actually start that training program in a few weeks! )
BrightonBelle - sounds like your in for a fab birthday this year! There's nothing better than getting together with old friends."Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0 -
stopped blubbing now:o
Plg - does the term 'satu marru' mean anything to you in Japanese?I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
BrightonBelle,
Sorry - you've lost me there. I asked OH if he had heard of it and he's also in the dark."Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0 -
missyg - Sorry to hear about your mp3 player. It must be the same as me as I'm shattered (as usual) by just reading your exercise acheivements
victory - ahh you're the one with THE mother! (I thought it was honey28) Still it's nice to know some things remain constant
BB - I hope you have an absolutely fabulous, fabulous birthday. I'm the opposite way around now. Used to have such busy birthdays but too much organsing to get everyone together means I now enjoy blissful birthdays with just a few friends (or none if I refuse to go out :rotfl: )
PLG & Vix - enjoy your trips  . I'm a very 'stay at home' person really but it's mainly because I hate putting the dog in kennels
I spent all afternoon sorting out a new mortgage and ended up staying with my current lender and taking one of the first deals we discussed  . Still, being on the phone, all that time kept me out of the fridge. Just noticed the time and I have 20 mins in which to get ready to go out now  . I've been anticipating this meal out for 3 weeks now and I guess I really shouldn't tell you that I fully intend to have treacle sponge pudding with lashings of custard - so I won't tell you and you didn't see that last line *it's all in your imagination* (makes wooing sounds and waves hands expressively) :rotfl:
Have a great evening everyone :T0
