missyg - Thanks for asking about the bike. I borrowed a friend's bike and tried it out for the first time last night. After 4.5 m (that's metres not miles!!!) the chain broke and I had to go back home again
. That's why I had to run to post a letter last night - was supposed to be my first bike ride.
Haven't yet got to the second hand bike shop and have been looking at buying new but they are more expensive and more complicated than I originally thought. Got a helmet though so on the way to being sorted for the duathlon!0 -
Suggs I don't remember a faux pas? Did I miss something?
Erlqueen I'm loving that you got slimmer of the week!Go you!!!
Pinklippy, I'm getting the feeling you must be older than you look in your picture? I've spent months travelling but never lived overseas - yet
Well guys today I have done my first ever 10km but I don't know if it qualifies as a run because I only jogged it. I didn't walk or stop once though! My time was 01:10:52and the second half was exactly one minute faster than the first half!
I think I am more suited to running longer distances slower, than shorter distances faster IYSWIMI found today easier than yesterday. Amused I went for that on the hottest day of the year though - haha :rotfl:
Hope everyone else is enjoying the gorge sunshine!0 -

Victory - is it possible your Mum might have dementia, or the first symptoms of Alzeimers? She sounds like a nightmare, you can rely on her not to give you any support when you most need it!
LL
I am not sure she has, she is just a pain:rotfl: :rotfl: she has asked for her weight watchers cook book back she gave me 2 years ago, insisting I bring it with me when I go to Spain, I am not because she is being pathetic, nothing to pick on so picks for no reason:rolleyes:0 -
Evening all,
I've been spending the past hour and a half planning our 3 days in London (we're flying to London to save money). In super MSE fashion we're taking advantage of all the free museums and art galleries
The London underground map is worse than the Tokyo one - well - at least to me it is! In Tokyo I had a basic grounding - I knew what things were in what area - however when it comes to London I'm a tourist! Took me ages to figure out what to do on what day (in terms of organsing it so that we were doing stuff in roughly the same area each day - no point going back and forward all the time!).
OH is taking a back seat with planning - said "It's your country so it's best if you organise it" -what a cop out
I've also been reading about the "oyster card" pass thingie - seems like a good deal.
We're paying 21 pounds each a night for our hotel - not bad eh?Gotta get used to bargain hunting in prep for being a student!

vix,

Lots of Japanese women look much younger than they are! I thought one of the mums in my class was 18/19 - however when I checked her son's (1 year old) enrolment info I discovered she was 28!
You're asking for trouble talking about bikinis with ajax around! :rotfl:"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0 -

Have´nt been around for a while so i hope everyone is well - i acquired this book - The Diet Doctors Inside and Out recently and its really inspired me! There was a programme on Channel 5 but i think its stopped now. Its about making small changes to your diet to be healthier and its goals feel really realistic and not like"diet" books. Think it can be found on other online sites as well as ebay so if you need guidance in word form - as a fellow diet follower - i do! Would recommend :j
