There were some Polish buskers with load speakers in Wimbledon a few weeks back, and they sang 'Up Where We Belong' off key and in thick accents! A woman in a shop I was in screamed "Oh my God they are murdering my wedding song!" and everyone burst out laughing! Priceless!
    I would if I could but I can't so I won't!

Bails, you're not the only one who loses track of lengths swum! So annoying when you're worried about "cheating" and probably over compensate and do too many!!! Well done on the 752m (or more!) :D Are you still enjoying your lovely posh gym?

Oh yes indeedy, got a new timetable today so hoping to try some new old classes IYSWIM and see how they affect me now. Glad I'm not the only one who loses count - I swim in sets to help me remember but even that wasn't enough today!

I've been looking at buying a sports watch to help with my timings - the lap/split timer on my phone would be ideal to count lengths but obviously I can't take that into the pool :rotfl: A watch would be more convenient than the phone for running and cycling too :)

    oooh - me too!

I wanna buy a G-shock as I had one when I went backpacking around Oz for a year and it survived many an ordeal (under the sea at barrier reef, when I fell off a horse! etc)

I was looking in the shops yesterday and they are quite pricey - cheapest ones were 40 pounds - some super funky "25th anniversary" ones were 100 pounds

I think I'll wait and get one in duty free when I'm flying home next week.

PLG - can't help but ask if your G-shock survived all that... where is it now?!!! :D I've been looking at all kinds, but in no rush to buy at the moment. I'll look while I'm travelling too :) Which day do you fly next week? Are you looking forward to it, or is it a case of mixed feelings?
  • Wow, you lot talk soooo much, its taken me ages to catch up.

Tagz - Well done on completing the 5k run:j !

missyg Well done too on the sub 30 min 5k and the final little bit of weight loss(I still feel like a relative newbie, yet you didn't run at all when I joined).

Reading everyone's running posts has shifted me slightly from an "I don't do running" frame of mind to a "Perhaps one day I'll give it a go, but then agan probably not" sort of thinking. Ah well, little steps:rotfl: .

ajax Thought you might comment on that one. My bra size left you almost speechless didn't it:rotfl: .

According to the Bravissimo lady, if my previous bra was fitted correctly (and I did go to a specialist NCT bra fitter, so I would have thought it wouldn't be too far out) I've lost about 6 inches around my chest and dropped about 3 cup sizes, so my body shape seems to have change quite a bit. Sounds like too much, but I guess I'm about 2.5 stone lighter now!

It's been a long day peeps so just a quick visit. Missyg - really pleased for you that your have reached your target. I know I always feel a little anxious at anyone homing in for 8 stone, but I've learnt over the months that you seem to have a pretty sensible and healthy attitude to being fit and healthy. So I 'm glad your love of persevering at the numbers and stats has brought your reward. And well done for the PB 5k.
PLG - what's your hubby going to be doing over here and what course are you doing? Do you see this as a long term return to the uk or is that an unknown?
Vix, I so want you to go for that cricket job. Being a grown up can be great fun you know, as you have already found out with one very grown up thing between the sheets:D .
I've had a jolly afternoon plannng my birthday at the end of august:j :j
And done quite a lot of food shoping (tried a new farm shop haven't been to before) and cooking. Time for sleeps now.
Well done young bean - onward and downward. And raph - that 3lbs is a [STRIKE]vodka [/STRIKE]holiday gain. It will soon be off again. Kenny, really pleased about your dog. Sorry life is tough at the moment though. Hang on in there - you're worth it. Bails gets the champion swim.gif smilie:D & plg - I thought for a moment you said you'd fallen off a sea horse on the great barrier reef:rotfl:
How's the random pee fest delly:eek:
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
