missyg so jealous of your time!
Needed to post a letter up the road - made it into a quick 1.5 mile (2.5km) run instead of jumping in the car.All these different things keep life full of new experiences!0 -
BB just reminded me that you are potty training delly. Hope it is going ok.It's not easy...good luck!0

Raph - was the vodka partly to blame do you think? I had a 3lb gain the other week and it was all gone the week after - hope you have the same (or better!)
More than partly I think!!Oh well, I'm on half rations this week, as I can't get to the shops til Sat and my cupboards are running bare. (Nuts! Just remembered I've swapped a shift on Sat, so it won't be til Sunday!!) So that should help it drop off!

Missyg, I was young (19) and frivilous - watch went in the bin as I got a new one as a present off someone! The new MSE me would never do such a thing!
We're flying next Tuesday morning (a week today!) at 10am Japan time - which means we have to be in the airport just before 8am. We're leaving our apartment at 7am  We've got an hour and a half stop over in Hong Kong which will be interesting - I've never been there.
Very much a case of mixed feelings. It will be fun to show OH the UK and for him to meet all my family and friends. However I've lived in Japan all of my adult life and it's normaility to me - I think it's going to be a big culture shock for us both to live in the UK. I LOVE my job here - I'm really attached to all my rugrats and all my friends are here (I fell out of touch with a lot of my friends back home) so I think it's going to be tough.
BrightonBelle, OH works in a clinic at the moment (he has an acupuncture and moxibustion licence) however that licence is not valid in the UK. He also has a chef licence (that was his part time job when he was studying for his acunpuncture licence) and that is valid in the UK - so we're hoping he can get a job in a Japanese restaurant.
The move is 100% temporary - there's no doubt in my mind about that! I'm studying for a masters in education (primary). It was previously a diploma however the government decided to change it to a masters from this academic year (as a result of the "Childrens Report" they want all primary school teachers to have a masters qualification). It was a nightmare to get a place - very competitive, 1,000 people made it to the interview stage and 250 places were available. After I finish the masters I'll do a years probation teaching - after that we're planning to move to Australia.
I wish I had fallen off a sea horse - it would have been a lot less painful! :rotfl: I went for a horse riding lesson in Sydney and the instructor gave me a MONSTER horse! It's back was much taller than me  - I had to use a step ladder to get on the saddle. Anyways - whilst practicing a quick trot I lost my balance and promptly went flying off! Not cool!
KPC, thanks for that link! :rotfl: genius! As for the weight loss - all of the evil fat cells are having a party around my thighs, hips and bottom! After I reach my 2nd mini target I will no longer be "overweight" for my height - I'll be at the top range of the correct weight for my height. The 3rd mini target is tentative as I've never been within the correct weight range (as an adult) so I've no idea what I'll look like - I may wish to lose a bit more.
FFM - it's surprisingly fast (faster than my mountain bike as it has a lighter frame and thinner tyres). However doesn't look cool at all - I'd get mocked if I went about in one of those in Scotland!
tagz - I'm renowned in my family for having a "sick sense of humour" - I'd been on the floor crying from laughter if I was there when that women said that!"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0 -
yay oh is back from the war today!
he did a veterans day sho down in wiltshire. I haven't seen him last thursday morning so it will be nice to have him back . . .before he disappears off to do a site visit friday to sunday. still, i'm sure it will all pay dividends. I hada mini first last tnight - i sat and read all evening . . .without snacking at the same time. It had become totally automatic to eat whilst reading, and of course, i just shovel it in with no real regard for how much i'm eating. so i was quite pleased with that. must go, need to weed and feed the grass( can't call it a lawn) before heading to work0 -
