Bottom burps! Just lost a long reply I tried to post (you lot are probably lucky!)

Disaster! I've put my back out. Happened whilst bending over to get the milk out of the fridge. The Race For Life is on Sunday! Ran last night and we did 4k. Thought I could do 5k easily but didn't want to push it. Hope my back gets better before Sunday!!!!!!!

Suggs and Ajax. All this naughty banter reminds me of my time in Sixth Form. Boys school with sixth form entry for girls - ten girls one hundred boys. My friend and I looked really innocent so they tried to embarass us but they didn't count on me being even worse! Had to tone it down since having the kids but still snigger at inappropriate times. You make me feel young again. Keep it up! Ooh matron!!!
    I would if I could but I can't so I won't!

yes, who know that fudge packing could be so profitable? rofling away here at work. Just had a dreadful time trying to pay a credit card bill - had some cash to pay it with and went to the nearest 'town' to save a trip. Natwest, HSBC and Yorkshire all wanted £10 because I wasn't a customer! Wasted most of my lunchbreak and ended up back at barclays where i usually go and am not a customer but they don't seem to fret. £10!!!!! i was horrified!

KPC at least you know where to go next time. Sometimes even a post office can be the best bet ... depends on the card originator I suppose.

    Evening all,

    Questions for all you runners....

    No 1:
Week one on the program I'm going to (well attempt to!) follow states:

    (Run 60 sec, walk 3 minutes) x 3- total 16 mins

I was wondering how you guys kept track of your time - do you use stop watches or G-Shock type watches were you can set a beeper to go off after x amount of seconds?

    No 2:
Also - my training shoes have an inbuilt slot for a Nike chip thingie that moniters your progress - feeding it to your ipod - and you can upload it to the Nike website to keep track of your runs using graphs etc - anyone used this at all?

    No 3:
Any particular tracks/albums you listen to - to keep you motivated?

Well done missyg. How was it?

I ran another 5km at lunchtime but couldn't get on the bike as it was busy (small free gym at my office has it's downsides!)

PinkLipgloss - I think these time suppose that you are running on a treadmill and can see the seconds ticking away. Might be easier to do it on the road if you have someone with you shouting out the times!

The shoe/ipod/chip thinks sounds very hi-tech! No idea about it, though, sorry.

I listen to Ace of Base or other cheesy music with a fast beat. Any music which makes you feel good and is fast so that you can get into the rhythm of running with the music. Slower music is harder to run to, I think.

Well done missy on completing the sprint triathalon :) How you feeling??

I bought a pair of 3/4 length last night and today I went out and had a try jogging/walking outside for my lunch, I delibratly tried to slow my pace and I managed two laps of the lake a total of 3.06miles in 28m15s. Not as quick as in the gym, but so very cuffed with it, I didnt walk once which is the main thing :j

PLG I love the gadgets, am thinking of a heart monitor type thingy which also has a stopwatch on it. My normal watch has a stopwatch, but very difficult to read while jogging as its not a digital watch. Havent got an ipod sure the nike shoe, not for me, but would be interested if they actually worked :) Music wise I have a mixture on my little mp3, so today

    Insomnia - Faithless
Six weeks ago - Bourne Ultimatum Soundtrack
Eve of the War - War of the Worlds
African Rundown - Casino Royle Soundtrack

This list goes on, Nickelback, One Republic, Linkin Park, Alien Ant Farm, Mark Ronson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nivrana all feature

I did 3.06miles in 28m02s last week and that was my best time ever! And it was your slow pace - ouch. You must be very fast!

Didnt mean it like that, :o I go faster in the gym, but also end up holding onto the bar for dear life. Hence to mental effort to slow myself down a little. I would rather slow down a little and not hold on to the bar nor walk. I admit that at the end of my my laps I could possibly have gone a little further. In fact after a breather I jogged back to the car which was around an extra 900m uphill and then down again. :)

So there are things I like to take my time over :)
