3lb loss for me this week quite simply due to stress of the move and being told that my teenage son cannot get into the school we wanted but he can get into 2 others that have an ofsted report of grade 4, the teachers are inadequate, there are exclusions, fights, the ofsted report all but says that they should be shut down:eek: I can't let that happen to my son, what mother would want their child in those schools? We have been packing, decorating, moving boxes, cancelling things and all of it has stopped now because of this, there is nothing else to think about.0

Victory, well done on the loss, I'm sorry it's because of stress though
Hope it's all worth it for you in the end x
I'm somewhat bemused to report that I have just run 5kmYes, run it... the whole distance, no stopping, no walking... on my 4th ever attempt. I honestly thought that was going to take weeks if not months to build up to, I didn't know if I'd ever be able to do it in fact.
Lap 1 03:24Funny thing was I didn't even feel as up for it as my previous ones, and I was also keeping an eye on my son who was playing with friends in the park, so I had that distraction too (and I got veered off course by someone's dog at one point... you don't get that on a treadmill do you :rotfl: )
Lap 2 03:32
Lap 3 03:34
Lap 4 03:38
Lap 5 03:36
Lap 6 03:46
Lap 7 03:42
Lap 8 03:33
Lap 9 03:38
Total 32:23
Like the 100 length swim the other week, this is a big milestone for me and it's this thread which has inspired me to do it. Thank you :T
So... please may I join the 5km club? And by the way - I'll be carrying on at least until I get it sub 30 mins

Thanks FFM. It probably wasn't that much, I went for a 6 pinter of milk and 2.5kg of potatoes plus a few other lightish bits. I was a bit worried about the milk being churned into butter before I got home :rotfl: If I can find a way of distributing the weight more evenly on myself and the bike it would be a lot better so I might try the pannier option
It clearly hasn't done me any harm considering I've managed a run today as well!
Hiya Laughingnome, lots of people here doing this on a budget (funnily enough!) so hope you feel at home!0 -
missyg, not too far from the 7kgs! 6pints would weigh about 3.5kg + 2.5kg potatoes = 6kgs + the other bits you bought. Would have been funny if you had found a new way to make butter - very mse :money:
Well done on the running - definitely not an activity for me - I'll stick to the cycling.
