Congrats PB on your win, hope you use it more than I do!

    Brilliant losses guys, well done.

Big welcome to the newbies, hope you reach your goals.

Victory, I hope you get the schools sorted, it's the one worry I have about moving, although no-one seems interested in buying my house at the moment so I may not have to think about it for a while. Good luck.

Well done Missy, I couldn't imagine walking that distance at the moment, let alone run it!

Marion, I think your weight loss regime sounds great, I'm not so sure about the cauli leaf soup though!

    Take care all

lo all, hope all are well. marion that sounds like a good plan. It's a habit I need to get back into i think. V impressed at pooh winning a wii! how cool! BBelle, can't recommend enough the falconry half day it was so much fun, and i firmly believe that clubcard points are ONLY to be spent on fun things. There was a chap with us who had a problem with his shoulder and they were very concerned, kept checking on him and making sure they weren't pushing him too far. OH has quite a good pic on his phone of me with an owl so i may get brave and post it if he can figure out how to get it on the computer. Thought it was down your way suggs! i'll be back in november!

slightly traumatised by the boot now, as well as the abominably rude man who told me to 'clear off' when i knocked on his door doing my rounds tonight. So off for a lie down with the 'wee free men' which i treated myself to this morning. Anyone else read 'making money' yet? he's not losing his touch, thats for sure!

Got back from my second meeting at Slimming World.

I've lost 3½lbs in the last week.

I'm quite happy with that :)

Recipie for the Cali leaves soup plse.
    Ta.

Recipe? Well I will try but I just sort of make it up as I go along!:rotfl:

    Ingredients:

    Califlower leaves - chopped up
onion -as much as you like- chopped
any vegetable cuttings you have been saving for a couple of days (carrot tops/bottoms, potato peel, brocolli stalk etc.
any other left overs in the fridge you don't fancy eating!
vegetable stock and or tin chopped tomatoes if you like them
    seasoning - whatever you like

    method

fry off the onions gently in a little frylight if you have it or just use a little water in a non stick pan.
Put your stock in a large saucepan and chuck everything else in, bring to a boil thin simmer for 20 to 30 minutes or until you remember its ont he cooker! You can always add extra water or stock if needed.
Take it off the burner, blend about half of it and chuck it back in with the rest and serve. Nice and filling, syn free on both days on SW!:D

It does taste better than it sounds really, and it tastes different everytime depending on what you have lurking in the kitchen:D !

    Enjoy

  • Have you thought about lighter-life? A girl at work has gone from over 20 stones to about 11 and has kept it off for about a year and a half now.

  • There are no real short cuts to weight loss. Just eat sensibly and do a little bit of exercise and it'll come off. True weight loss pills are currently little more than a pipe dream.

If you're serious about weight loss, there's only really one way to go about it - and you don't need anyone here to tell you what it is.

just aquickie peeps, todays been a bit of a write off. Victory - really sorry to hear stress is the cause of your weight loss: the whole school thing is awful, I just hope you can find a solution:grouphug: .
Marion - I am sure the subtle changes in how you cook and eat are the reason for your recent really good run of weight loss:T . It is exciting to read you discovering new, more economic and wholesome wayd of eating. I always cook meals for 4 when suitable so I can freeze the extra 2 portions. That way I have a good meal to hand when I don't feel up to cooking and it uses up food while it is fresh and you only use the gas/elec once and 'leftovers' aren't wasted. My own new found 'thing' with food is switching from sains to the local butchers and greengrocers and I'm loving it.(Granny, thanks for the advice: a complete innocent me:D) I do feel good about now only eating meat from animals I know have grown up free range. I'm still using supermarkets for cheese and low fat dairy and tinned toms/beans etc. Sometimes, changing how you do things gives you a fresh approach to how and what you eat i think, and you are reaping the rewardstea.gif.
Starlight -I'm sorry you are struggling at the mo. You went through this a few months ago did't you, and took a break from ww for aweek or two and then started losing again when you went back to it? Is that possible again? Also, they do say the body gets used to eating the same foods and it sometimes needs a shake up by eating differnt things. Or you could go for the radical complete change of plan. It's not that sw is better than ww, it's just different and might give your body the shakeup it needs. Do keep posting. You have done phenominally well starlight. This is just a frustrating blip - you will find a solution and get past this.
missy -I love hearing of your physical challenges: well done on your latest achievement of 5kms non stop:T . FFM -sounds like you know the boundary of getting too thin for you, well done. It seems you'll just have to slowly up the cals til you put a few on and then try to balance it again.
welcome danni - agreat start for you. I'm a sw fan - it does take a few weeks to get your head round it but is worth it. I eat really well and a much more varied diet than I was doing off it.
Kpc - I was encouraged to see you can have half a day at the falconry place - perhaps that would be a bit more possible for me. I'll look more closely at the web site. What's the 'wee free men'?
Of to bed now. Lots of beauty sleep required before weigh in tomorrow...
Ha, just seen romania are out - you just couldn't take it easy could you ajax and let us both go through! I demand an enquiry.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

I'm currently on the Cambridge Diet and have gone from 17st and a size 22 to 13st 7lbs and a size 16 in 3 months. I've still got a fair way to go but I don't think I could have got this far on any other diet (I've tried them all!). On this diet you lose on average 1 stone per months so you get result really quickly.
Cambridge is a meal replacement diet, where you have food packs and basically don't eat. You have to have a minimum of 4 pints of water a day which is a bit hard at first (with a lot of bathroom breaks! lol) but you get used to it after a couple of weeks.
It costs around £35 a week (about half of what lighter life costs, which is the same thing) but when you take into account that you're not having to buy food for yourself, it's not that expensive really.
