Looks great - really. Only comment would be that it might be nice to have some kind of table (maybe as well) so that we can scan down to see who is on WW or SW for example? Maybe it is not necessary...
.......I like that - a quick glance table page so that is someone gets stuck on a plan, they may get their memory jogged by seeing someone on that plan and maybe remembering a post. Should be easy enough to do.0 -
ajax,
Thank you for taking up my idea and doing something with it! :T
Site is looking good. I like the way the names are listed down the side.
Just a couple of comments:
I'd have a set template for each person with the following details (using a table layout - but without showing the lines of the table on the site - as that looks cheap)
- About Me (couple of sentences e.g. location, interests, sports info)
- Plan (e.g. Weight Watchers, Slimming World etc)
- Target loss (e.g. 2 stone) OR Loss to Date (e.g. 1 stone) or both (optional?)
- Photo/s (optional)
If there is going to be quite a bit of text on it then it may be better to change to a lighter coloured background with dark text - as reading white text against dark can be hard on the eyes."Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" ..... lol, can all be done easily - just didn't want to get elaborate if it was a dead idea to start withPinkLipgloss wrote: »If there is going to be quite a bit of text on it then it may be better to change to a lighter coloured background with dark text - as reading white text against dark can be hard on the eyes.
..... you see white? I see grey text, and color ref #969696 agrees with me.... Seriously, hopefully the only white that should ever show is on the active link down the left hand side - for exactly the reason you said.

I have lost 6lbs this week.

Evening all,
Well done to everyone who has lost/maintained this week.:T
KPC - I LOVE the Discworld. Have you seen the film version of "The Colour of Magic" ? I thought it would be great as it has David Jason - however I was really disappointed by it. I guess the magic of the books really can't be recreated on film.
Victory - I hope you sort something out school-wise for your son.
missy - well done with your 5K run :j After watching a season of "The Biggest Loser" I now have the confidence to attempt running (I'm definitely not a natural runner). I wonder how far I will manage (perhaps a third of a km :rotfl: )?
Oh - and its an STS for me this week. I've been good food wise however I didn't have time to exercise over the past week as it's my last week at work  so I've been really really busy. I think my body has adjusted to my reduced food intake and I'm going to have to really work exercise wise to shift the rest.

Wow bindi that's great !!!! :T She's back with a bang!!!
Efrieze, was just thinking about your excellent table idea with everyone's WL plan on it.......... Maybe the most appropriate place for that would be on page 1 of here? I think so. After that I'd be happy to duplicate it if desired, but this site should always be the home for things that Suggs et al feel is appropriate for this site.0 -

Bizarre! The entire site shows on my computer as black - with the text in white
EDIT - Sorry Ajax - doh! - a second check revealed it is in fact gray text! However reading wise I usually find it's better to have dark text on light backgrounds - but that's just me! I'm sure lots of other ppl will have different opinions!"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" Just found this thread!
Have been on the Cambridge Plan since the end of July 2007 and am doing really well so far!
Got a whole new Summer wardrobe since everything was falling off me
Good luck to everyone else, whichever weight loss plan you are following0 -
PinkyPLG, no problem. I think it's exactly what you say - personal preference. I have to say I'm one for a dark background. If there's a large majority one way or t'other then it's not the biggest job in the world to amend things.0
