I am reporting a gain of 7lbs in the last two weeks - my damage limitation was successful to an extant but I really go a bit mad on holiday (and also before I went). Anyway, I hope to get it off in the next week or two (despite my weekend in Switzerland starting tomorrow). At least I am keeping up with the exercise!

Morning all, a sts this week please lois. Quite happy with that as I had 2 day off plan and was very focussed on plan the rest of the time, syns below 5 these last 3 days. Getting back down to target (an elusive 3lbs away) is going to take quite a bit if work methinks, but I'd rather leave than as my target and hovver slightly above it, than reset my target to the weght i am now, as I suspect I would end up hovvering 3lbs above that weight.
Thanks for the book explanation kpc - love the sound of it and will look out for it.
Ajax -you said yesterday you were thinknig about thinking about a class. I know I found it did keep me on track for 6 months, even though I didn't learn anything very useful there. But I made an effort to get chatting and be friendly, so it upped the sense of pride to try and get a loss to 'show off' in class becasue it was people I had got to know.

I think it was pinklipgloss who first suggested the info on everyone ajax. Suggestions flooded in and then it all went quiet. I guess it needs someone to set it up and confirm with peeps the prefered method. As I recall, we were thinking of something on the first page with username, plan/method of wl and then one line of optional self description to remind peeps of who they are. The down side of that, is the key points that remind us who others are are different for everyone. e.g. ajax may put 'damned handsome fellow', which while true of course, might not bethe key factor in how someone else would remember him:rotfl: .
Also, one person would have to be the filler in of the chart, as we can't all edit the same post, only the postee can. I'm doing the chart after lois this month and am happy to add a small column for method if wanted, but there wouldn't be room for anything else (it's much wider than the bit you see as it covers the whole month for calcs purposes).
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Hi to the merged thread people! :) So many people seem to look for a quick fix and while the initial results can be fast, I often hear of the weight going back on rather quickly - sometimes with 'interest'. Every method has it's share of successes and failures, but in the end it's down to the individual, not what plan they are following. If people have kept their lost weight off, it's because they haven't reverted back to whatever made them overweight in the first place.

Hand on heart, I would rather have lost my weight over time the way I did (calorie control and exercise) than take a pill or go on a crash diet and have it happen magically almost overnight. The latter method would have taught me nothing about healthy living, wouldn't have given me time to adjust my eating habits for the long term or work on my fitness, and it would have left me with excess flab and saggy skin as I wouldn't have had the opportunity to tone up as I went along :) The extra time taken was WELL worth it.

Morning all! Hope everyone's doing OK! Well done losers and STSers so far this week!

Marion - great post about the change in cooking. Halving your grocery bills is a massive achivement considering how much everything has gone up! What would you have done if food prices had stayed the same - you might have cut your bills by two thirds or more :D Unfortunately the money saved in food will probably have to go towards clothes in your new size :rotfl: but that's not a bad thing ;)

Suggs, I reckon the 5k club has levels of membership! One for doing the distance at all by whatever means, one for running it non stop, another for getting sub 30 mins... then sub 25 mins... oh and not forgetting outside (which you'll be joining soon) and inside (which I've yet to do!) I bet you and Efrieze can think of more little mini-challenges, like the one she mentioned about getting the pace up before :)

Thanks everyone for the congrats and support about my run by the way, I am still pathetically pleased with myself about it :rotfl:

Started SW properly today and had a greed day.

A greed day Delly?! :D I must look into this SW thing.... :rotfl: How is DS?

    Efrieze... Switzerland... envious.... *sigh* :p

Feeling the effects of yesterday a bit, the cycling backpack episode(!) more than the running, but I'll do an hour in the home gym later and maybe a little wii fit too.

I was looking at triathlon distances last night, and I would like to have a go at the "sprint" which is 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run. I wouldn't sprint it as such - just completing it would be enough. (If I can do that then I'd like to try the next one up which is double all those distances). If I can find a friend willing to take my swimming bag off me after the pool bit, that would help :) Then I can map out 20km cycling to my house, change there and go running.

... thanks Bb, I think it's the group aspect of it that would keep me on the straight and narrow too - especially if I went to a new class, new consultant etc.

....you're such a smoothie. :D Thanks for reminding me it was PLG. PLG, is it something like this you had in mind? I've only filled out(ish) two members links - myself and bails - to check the formatting. I was thinking that folks could just PM me whatever they wanted in their 'biog' in any form they like (prose, point-based, anything) and I could simply paste it into their individual page. It could have pictures if you wanted. Two notes though:-
    - I dunno how you'd get around Bb's point that everyone remembers people in different ways
    - nothing really specific like full names or addresses should be on there for identity theft prevention (I really don't think folk would anyway)..... I think Suggs pertained to this last week

Other than that I'm happy to do anything, or indeed abandon it if it's not what folks want - it's taken me no more than an hour so no biggie. Let me know.

Efrieze, EXCELLENT gain. You must be really enjoying your holiday.

I'd love to do a triathlon - just for the sense of achievement associated with it. I don't do any bicyling at the moment so would have to train for that a bit, I reckon. I was looking into doing a course of wall climbing - I have never done anything like that before and thought it might be a great challenge. If anyone knows of any other such things in and around London, do let me know. I am really in the market for interesting phyical challenges!

I intend to do 5km under 28 mins and once I achieve that, I will be trying for longer distances. That is my hope, anyway....

Looks great - really. Only comment would be that it might be nice to have some kind of table (maybe as well) so that we can scan down to see who is on WW or SW for example? Maybe it is not necessary...

I am happy to PM you my 'story' and even pictures too - might be better than what you have made up for bails!
