Liking the listing thing ajax, and plg's thing of what should be on it. It might be cool to get a description from other members on there too - maybe get everyone to post that they want to be involved and then someone(i'll volunteer) randomly pairs people up so they write a descriptor for each other?

PLG I thouhg colour of magic was a bit clunky, but then again, as much as I love PTerry, it's a bit of a clunky book, especially when all linked up with the light fantastic. Hogfather was very good - I really enjoyed that one.

One of the girls in the office here is doing sureslim. She's doing really well, losing loads of weight - however they've done 'blood tests' and found that she 'can't metabolise carbs' and various other things so she's pretty much eating 235g protein a day, some cheese and lettuce. We worked out she's on about 800kcal a day. Oh and it cost £500. Has anyone ever one this or know anyone who does it? I'm not considering it or anything but i am quite interested. I suppose that £500 is a major incentive to stick to the diet!

Sorry I don't know anyone who has done that...

£500 is a lot of money. Before spending that kind of money I'd want to hear about it in detail from several different people that I could trust.

 Hey Everyone. I am new here but I am looking for some advice plz.
I am thinking of taking diet pills to help me lose weight - thing is they are in capsule form - which I have probs swallowing  Don't ask I just do lol!
Anyway are they safe to take? How much weight should you lose a week to be safe? And has anyone heard of the * Star Diet Pills * which claim to help you lose up to 10lbs a week?

Hope its ok to post this here?

    (hugs) Makenna :A

Hi Makenna - welcome to the thread.

Some years ago I bought some so called slimming pills, only to read the instructions which said that they would only work if I followed a calorie controlled diet, which does make you wonder what was the point of the pills!

Since then I've read a few horror stories about people buying certain kinds of slimming drugs on the internet, and to be honest I would not recommend it. There's some information here about the dangers.

The safest way to lose weight is by eating a varied diet, reducing the amount of fat and sugar you eat, and if possible, increasing your activity levels so that you burn more calories and increase your metabolism.

Why not tell us a bit about yourself - we all know what it's like to want to lose weight, so you'll get plenty of sympathy and support.

Ajax - I love the link and the additional ideas fadding the plan you're following. The down side of the 'weight lost so far' idea, would be that you would have to be updating it regularly and that isn't what we are after really is it (too much work). If this got up and running, how did you plan for us to access it when ever we want.

missy & efrieze - aka 'we don't do running', now planning a triathlete event:rotfl: . Im getting fitter every time you two post!

    Well done bindi.
Vix - re yesterday's post - I don't know whether ' a bar of choc for lunch equates to a sarnie' calorie wise, but it not a good weight loss eating solution. It's not even a good sts solution. It's what is called empty calories without anything much of nutritional value, although yummy of course. Could you make a sarnie for yourself the night before to just grab in the morning for work days? Even a banana and yoghurt, though not enough food, would be better than chochie. I know it is hard prepping food when you live at home but you need to eat properly to sustain energy and good health. I speak as one who has lost her health and it b*gg*rs up your life no end i can tell you.

Hi KPC - I have a colleague who has signed up for that, and she's really struggling with it. She's lost 1.5 stone, but her weight loss has really slowed down, and she's extremely bored with the very limited choice of food on her plan. It sounds very much like your friend, but the protein only consists of chicken, measured amounts of cheese and one egg each week - no fish, and no red meat. There are so many things 'not allowed' that she's constantly craving basic foods like jacket potatoes and bread.

I think the reason it works (for some) is the £500 incentive - if you've paid that kind of money you wouldn't want to give up.

Site looks great ajax, but its lacking one major thing. ME! Couldnt adam and eve it. Although im not on a plan and ive put on the only pound i lost so i suppose my story would be as interesting as this post is :p Have to agree with pinklipgloss, another colour background would be fab.

Hope everyone is ok today. Im pretty sure i have broken the first bone in my body to ever break - my forth toe!! well, probably more of a fracture than a break but it bloody hurts, its swollen and its highly annoying. Im trying to keep weight off it and not move it but its pretty tricky. Was going to go for a walk today but i think thats out for now! I havent weighed myself yet but i can probably tell you what it will say without going anywhere near the scales!

Im off to watch royal ascot. Men in suits, yummy. Always fab to watch! (and the womens clothes and horse racing)

    Ajax - you're forgiven :kisses3:

Your description of yourself on the embryo website made me laugh! :D

I like the website idea, but it would involve someone (you) having to spend time keeping it up to date, and for all you're willing now, you might get fed up of it after a while.

What does everyone think to having a separate thread, where each person adds their own information and a photo if they want to. I saw one somewhere else on the forum - the Arms possibly? - which had photo's of people that post regularly there. We might need to get agreement from the board guide for it to be on the same board, and we'd need an agreement that it is purely for that purpose - no discussions etc.

  • Hi all

No exercise this week (apart from taking DS to park) as have stinking cold as well as hayfever! BUT Pleased to announce a 5lb loss:j :j .Feel back on track now, only 1lb off what I was before the break! Allowed myself a whole tin of chicken soup today (for the cold of course!!)

Lois Lane (or whoever's doing the chart) Please can you put down total weight loss so far as 12lbs. (I'm not quite as good as I looked last week, but I messed things up a bit by posting my gain late and missing at least a week - sorry for being trouble.

missyg :T Well done with the running :T . Wow, I'm just trying to keep in mind that its still possible to get to target without that dreaded r word!
