I stayed the same this week but as I have been on medication again I am rather pleased with this as normally I would have piled a stone + on by now!:o

Other people seem to be doing well this week (and sorry to the gainers - you will be back on track soon) - I like the idea of the link to see how people are doing etc - can I be included on that! (and yes to me it came up darkish grey on black - very hard to read!)
Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup :D

Efrieze - as you've probably seen from previous posts I want to do wall climbing too, so does my son! I was waiting for my strength:weight ratio to improve as the courses aren't cheap and I want to get the best I can from the instruction - but now I'm a bit stuck because I'm expecting to need that operation so I don't want to sign up for a course I might not be able to complete. You'll have to let me know how you get on!

As for the triathlon, did you mean joining an organised one? I don't think I could ever do that (although I mustn't rule things out :rotfl: ), I have enough trouble in the swimming pool if one person is swimming too close to me and I hate it when there's contact! I'm definitely a solitary type of person when it comes to my exercise. Once I've done the 5km run a couple more times I will attempt to string those 3 things together and see how I get on, looking forward to that.

Ouch about the treadmill today, I would feel exactly the same but you must also know you would definitely have beat your PB, so don't totally discount it! Use it as extra impetus for next time!

Wendy, I would say hula-hooping is good exercise yes! It's one of the disciplines on the wii fit, so it must be! ;)

Lois, I read the linked article - scary stuff - and frightening that people would risk doing such damage to their bodies. It actually reminded me that I must have read something about slimming pills before, and one of them apparently said to take the pills 2 hours before bed with loads of water, then eat nothing else that evening - and then it said something like you could do this without actually taking the pills (just the water and no late snacking) and expect to lose weight anyway! :rotfl:

Beanie - snap, I had a 3lb gain 2 weeks ago, it all came off straight away though, hope it does for you too :)

Well done Lemon Drop! Great stuff!

BB, I was thinking exactly the same as you. Two parts to a weight loss programme, the first part is getting the weight off, second part keeping it off. Not all plans seem to address both halves of this! :)

Oops I'm late for the school run - will actually have to run! :rotfl: Back in a bit!

Cute 'n' Quirky - 'scuse ignorance - what does a Power Trainer do? :)

Efrieze I reckon you could give me a run for money with fitness! You are much faster than me. Uber fit I am not - I would say I have reasonable general all-round fitness and good stamina, but nothing special. I'm currently the fittest I've ever been in my life though, so that is still an achievement! I'm just outside London, I'll PM you with a more precise location :)

Do we have anyone knowledgeable about heart rate monitors on here?

Can I join in too?? I want to loose at least 33lbs just to get me to 25 BMI which is the top range for being "healthy".

My problem is, when I was at uni I was very active, did horseback riding, polo, gliding, windsurfing, swimming, I had something on every day. Now that I'm working and paying back my debts I don't have the money or time to do any of these activities.

So ever since leaving uni I've been steadily gaining weight, despite trying to eat less. I tried a gym for one month. Went 2-3 times per week, had a routine made for me, combination off cardio and weights, but actually gained weight over this period. Since I told myself I had to loose weight, I've actually gained 5lbs. It's getting really depressing:embarasse
