So... please may I join the 5km club? :D And by the way - I'll be carrying on at least until I get it sub 30 mins :p

Absolutely - my target was sub 30 mins also and it only took me a few times of running without slowing to a walk to achieve it. Very well done. It's amazing what we can achieve when we want to - only a couple of months ago you told suggs that you don't do running when he talked of his marathon - just shows you...

    heya everyone.

Hope everyone is ok. Ive been working hard at work, had a wii night with some friends last night. Had a go at the wii fiit which was pretty good actually, probably have to get that at some point.

Weight loss might not be soo good this week. Have been working a fair bit and i walked about a bit today, worked over lunch so didnt really have anything other than a chocolate bar, which i guess is about a sandwhich worth. I dunno what level of exercise i need to be doing to make it worth while....

Sorry to hear about your son victory. Must be awful to know your son might have to go there (Im not 100% sure on the system now) Good luck with the move too!

Anyway, i need to look up some policemans handbook but ive totally forgotten the name ha. I also need to work out what to do for my mums 40th.

Oh there will be any number of posts in my past where I've said "can't run - won't run" :rotfl: I really did think running was the one thing I'd never do.

Similar to what FFM has just said actually :p;)

Thanks guys. I'm so chuffed about it, can't stop smiling!

Marion - hope you've found a dentist for Mr rl. Toothache is so miserable. I'm sure the changes in dentil practice means more folks don't go for checkups becasue of the cost and end up suffering more. Bad system. You really are on a roll with your weight loss:T .

Thanks Brighton belle, we were luck enough to find one thanks. It turns out my OH had an abcess on his gum so he has started a course of antibiotics and has a dentists appointment in about 2 weeks time. Funny enough it will be our 38th wedding anniversary so guess we won't be going out to dinner!!
You are quite right about not going for check ups now too. We used to have a dentist close by but he sold his practice and the new ones don't do National Health! Just keep brushing and flossing and keep your fingers crossed :rotfl: !

  • Hey Everyone. I am new here but I am looking for some advice plz.
I am thinking of taking diet pills to help me lose weight - thing is they are in capsule form - which I have probs swallowing  Don't ask I just do lol!
Anyway are they safe to take? How much weight should you lose a week to be safe? And has anyone heard of the * Star Diet Pills * which claim to help you lose up to 10lbs a week?

Hope its ok to post this here?

    (hugs) Makenna :A

Marion :j :j :j Do you know what you are doing differently to get these excellent results?

Conference away was good but a bit foody (and drinky) so I'm working on a sts for this week. Reading about missy and suggs has made me feel tired so I'm going to have a little lie down now.

BB -- if the butcher offers you a free sausage RUN. Unless you fancy the butcher.

I am not really sure why things have been going so well for my weight loss lately. I have been doing one main thing lately that has been different. I have been reading the Don't Throw Food Away Challenge thread and it really struck a chord with me. Since I have retired money has obviously been tight and after reading this forum I really started to take notice of how much food we wasted:eek: I was totally shocked and determined to stop doing it now.

For starters I have been cooking from scratch and when I make a nice casserole for example, instead of eating it all or chucking out the leftovers - I have purposely been dishing out an extra portion for the freezer. That means I am eating less, and throwing away nothing! Since I am eating less I am saving money and also losing weight! I do this for almost everything I cook - from pasta to porkchops! I would have had 2 chops in the past - now I eat only one and second one is for another day.:j I even cut the green leaves around the cauliflower up and made a soup with it:eek: - and it tasted great!!

I realise this sounds a little simplistic but it does seem to be working for me. It also gives an incredible sense of accomplishment. My grocery bills are half of what they were and I feel real good about myself - sort of an inner calmness. Hope this makes sense!
