Missy I did you a disservice, it was Lois' team who went crashing out first. Your boys can stay in with a win over Germany tomorow :)

    Today's games:
    Switzerland (Lois) vs Portugal (Bails)
Turkey (kpc) vs Czech Republic (tags)

    and see this post.

Anyway, Switzerland won their third game last night against Portugal, but they're out because they'd lost the two previous games. So I'm out whether I was supposed to be supporting Austria or Switzerland. :rotfl:

Lois I think Ajax is getting his Austrias and Switzerlands mixed up :rotfl:

Ajax don't you remember your comment to me about empathy with the Austrian ski slopes?

Though if they're both out anyway.....:rotfl:

    Morning all :D

You'll be pleased to hear there were no hysterics when I stepped on the scales this morning - I'd managed to lose the 1lb I'd gained last week. This is going to be very slow going though, I'll be drawing my pension before I get back to where I was in 2003! How come it goes on so much quicker than it comes off?

Pet - pleased your man won, when does Wimbledon start?

BB - a little tip: shouting makes less mess than stabbing ;) DH and I cannot share a kitchen, if he's cooking I stay well clear, and expect him to do the same when I'm cooking! (Not helped by the fact that we can't swing a cat in our kitchen.)

Anyway, better get on with some work... catch you later.

Morning all - thanks peeps for hoping for a good result for me :D

Very pleased to report a 3lb* loss at today's weigh in!
*Of course, this only cancels out the 3lb 'bogus gain' from last week, but with TOTM looming I know it's a positive result anyway!

I am now back at my brick wall weight of 8st 0.5lb. Again :p

This week's plan is to have 1505 cals today and tomorrow as a small treat (that's my daily calorie need to maintain if sedentary), and then 1254 every day for the remainder of the week - that's my actual BMR.

Hopefully this is the week where I finally lose the last of that 5lb that I set out to do on 21 April! :rotfl:

Good luck to everyone still to weigh xxx

    Good morning :)

I didn't so much fall off the wagon this weekend - I ate it

Bad, bad weekend. I was just sooo hungry, don't know where it came from but didn't make much of an effort to control it either

On top of that, stuffing my face all weekend must have left me exhausted as I was an hour late for work this morning!

K, I'd better get to it. Will play 'thread catch up' (all those pages again^^ :rotfl: ) later.

    Take care /wave

    Morning All

First things first, Friday was a complete nightmare, weighing wise I wont post a weight, purely beacuse I didnt weigh at the right time, (6 hours later than normal and after a gym visit, but I had not eaten all day either, so hardly fair!) due to this meeting in London. So there I was stood on the railway platform, train approaching, when I noticed I had my car park ticket on my person and not on the car dashboard where it should be. So back I went to the car, luckily I had made an allowance for trains been delayed! So got the next train. Got to meeting with 10 mins to spare, it went ok, headed back and every intention to buy sandwich etc at Boots in Eustion station. Except I got to Eustion looked up and saw a train going in 9 mins, Queue too long in Boots, checked M&S on way to platform, couldn't indentify the low cal range:confused: So got on the train, never mind theres an M&S simply food next to MK station, except, it only had the unhealthy stuff, so went to the gym instead and had a massive ham salad once I got home phew!!!

Saturday I listened to the England v All Blacks game and on the radio Vix they were singing Englands Praises for a fair bit, shame about the result, but fully expected. Mate came round and while MrsS painted my sons rooms, we fitted the back door. I am pleased with the result, its very slightly off square, hard to explain, but when shut the top corner is not flush, but its in and I just need to take a couple mm off the bottom. Yesterday we glossed sons room, fitted curtain track, put back the furniture etc and it looks amazing and so different :) Really pleased with it. Then went for a walk around the lake. So shattered a wee tad. Two weeks time am fitting the French Doors and then I am going to tackle doing a decking, only a 6x6 one but want to try it.

I did see the second half of the Turkey Czech Republic game, great game and a shame Petr Cech dropping the ball, but what a finale!

Mick, where did you get the 1lb = 2,500 calories as I thought it was 3,500? Suggs is probably your best person to compare gym notes with, he's been known to do crazy numbers in a gym sesh! My only advice would be to make sure you keep the exercise sensible against what you're eating - i.e. if I was eating 1,200 cals I wouldn't attempt a 700 burn session, but if I'd eaten 1,700 that might be ok :) Need to leave your body enough cals for the everyday stuff :)

You know if I had a heart I would be hurt :D

I dont do crazy numbers I just push myself, because I know what a pig I can be :)Mick, my advice, is to make sure you eat and that you keep going back again and again, this is advice from a bloke that weighed approching 30stone at one point. So take it easy, ask for advice, eat and remember to go back.

Well done on your loss Missyg, can tell your well pleased :D Now if you really want to lose that stubbon half lb I have an idea ;)
INow done shopping list so big shop at local butches and greengocers tomorrow.

BB is that a specialist shop in Brighton?? :rotfl:

Good point lois:rotfl: . Trouble is, the 'not shouting bit' is so inbuilt I can't see that changing. And we weren't cooking, it was just the scene of the final straw:D .Have now restocked straw so plenty to last hopefully. We get on so well most of the time, but I guess even we are human.
Well done missyg and lois. I'm not weighing myself til wednesday now in the hope that any excess I put on this week will be off again by then.
Victory - moving is really hard work and I've always had to do it myself. Just make sure you look after yourself and get some food down you: can't mess with the diabetes eh. I've never experienced 'forgetting to eat':rotfl: . I go into melt down if I don't eat for a couple of hours!
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • i didnt have a good weekend.

i started with good intentions, really good healthy meal friday night, and then instead of 12 or 14 beers i only had 2!

Saturday.......... i had cheeseburger for dinner, and then about 12 beers.................

sunday - was in garden all day so again didnt want to cook - cheeseburger again it was.

and then i was really annoyed at myself last night for it.

have woken up today, had my shredded wheat for breakfast.

will have a banana at about 11am. lunch about 1pm (salad roll) banana about 3pmish and then dinner about half 6ish (which will be healthy)

plus im going on the bike tonight, just need to work harder.........

i know everyone has off days but this is my 2nd off day in a month.

not to fear ill be back on my ways in no time!

FFM - I can't offer any advice about your numbers as mine is even more unsettled than yours, but I still think you're doing GREAT at maintaining! It is so inspiring to see you being able to enjoy your food and treats, and not gain weight, and even build up a little leeway (which I'm sure will steady out in a few weeks).

I see you've mentioned to Beanie that you'd lose 1-2lb per week on the same cals while you were trying to lose, so your margin of difference was 1lb then. How far 'off' a maintain pace are you now over a period of, say, six weeks? Is it more than the 1lb/week difference from before? What I'm trying to say is, is your margin of difference really any worse now? :)

As for me, charting the numbers in the way you've suggested is a great idea. I've got all my numbers and stats saved ;) I'm always trying to track the calories/exercise against weight loss/(gain) but some sort of chart might make it easier to spot trends. I'll have a go at that, thank you!

Oooh Lois, the eternal question - why is it so much easier to go on than off?!!! If you find out please let me know! So glad you didn't need to bring on the hysterics today, well done!

Haha Suggs I meant crazy numbers in a GOOD way! You've got it sussed as far as I'm concerned and that's why I suggested you were a good person to compare notes with :D I'm on your side, you know I am :D Anyway thanks for the weekend recap, sorry about Friday being a nightmare, but I'm impressed with all the DIY stuff you're tackling! Now about this half lb... ;)

Hiya Erlqueen good to see you back! The weekend is past history now :) Discard, move on! :D

Right I am off to pay a cheque into the bank... but not to the usual bank in the local town, I'm going to one in another village up a very steep hill that I have never attempted on my bike before :o I'm reasonably confident I'll be able to cycle up in first gear, whether I have the courage to cycle back down I'm not sure :rotfl: See you all later!
