Hi guys,
Well it's been a long week with the kids off, I have tidied and dug over the beds in the back as well as used the mower for the first time. 1 ton of blue slate has been moved from the back to the front for the makeover and this is about half way through. I need to order another ton tomorrow and some bark for the beds. Half the fence is up and the other half goes up tomorrow and the gates are a work in progress. Then I need to tidy, weed and pressure wash the front as well as get some plants, paint the new fence and gates and we are done.
As for the back I think I am going to get some manpower to level it off, cut back the trees and bushes, sort out the borders and lay a lawn. My left hand is so swollen with what has been done already and I have pins and needles in it and the back is fairly big - too much for me. Then I should have a fairly blank canvas to get on with the planting.
The 2 eldest were helping on Sat. to move garden waste and trimmings from the hedge and have both come up with allergic type reactions on their arms (one of my helpers runs the ICU at the local hospital and on his advice they were stripped and showered and had no more to do with the garden and it got no worse from there on in) and allthough they look much better today the teachers in both schools are insisting that they see a gp and so they will both have to go tomorrow. It really looks better than it did, sigh!!
Anyway, I have done nothing today except tidy up as I am shattered and ache all over and we cheated at tea time and raided the local chippy. I must tackle the paperwork tomorrow and another humongous pile of ironing. No ironing fairies call at my house, LOL.
Big hugs to all of you in need and congratulations to all who deserve them. Pen-pin good to hear you sounding better.

smokybabe, how lovely to hear from you:D
Goodness, you have been busy!! But it sounds as if it will be worth it in the end. I think after all that gardening, I'd have done nothing today:o You certainly earned your chippy tea;)
The ironing fairies never visit me either
And it's not as if I don't leave them a good variety :rotfl:
I must away to my bed. Take care, CM xYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0
