OS Daily 2nd June 08

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 2st June, 2008 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything ski m through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning. Bit foggy today, but I think that will burn off later and make a nice day. I did not get any phone calls from work, so I guess they don't want to shell out the cash to get the work done. Suits me, I have to get quotes sorted for my wall and organise next weeks fishing competition.

The bees need some attention today too, extra boxes so that they can fill them up with honey (hopefully). I also need to clean out the shed. Everything is going to the dump. I tried freecycle but no one bothers to pick up the stuff.

I got 30 more eggs yesterday, so they are incubating, I hope for better success rate than last time. The 8 chicks that hatched are now 1 weeks old. I will post a photo sometime when I get round to it.

Oh I also have to get my son's passport sorted....I got an on line application last week..... I told him DO NOT sign outside of the box..... So he signed outside of the box. Why do they make such stupid forms anyway?

Cheers

Morning N9eav and all who follow! N9eav - they make forms like that just to make life more difficult for us, I'm sure!

I had such a busy day yesterday that I didn’t have much time on here at all. We had visitors in the morning and then later went to DS’s for dinner and to suss out how he and DH are going to fit a cat-flap in to his house for their cat whilst they are on their honeymoon in August. They’ve bought the cat flap which seems way too complicated compared to what they were like years ago! DH will go back over next weekend to fit it. We then visited other friends and by the time we got back home it was time for tea. I then had a lovely chat on the phone with my Mum, had a bath and then it was time for bed – I couldn’t believe how quickly the day had gone. I should have done the ironing and lots of other things but it was nice to catch up with everyone.

Well done to Shez and Weeping River in their Race for Life!

SMOKY – (((hugs))) to you and the children.

PENPIN – I hope every day is better than the one before and that you are feeling better.

MRS MIX – (((Hugs))) to you.

BETH – I hope everything went well.

    MARTYN – where are you?

    CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:

Well, I have a dental appointment this morning at 10 – just for a check-up. The dentist is in the next village so I shall visit the charity shops there and I also need to take some shoes in to be heeled; our nearest cobbler is there. After that, I really must get back home and finish the wedding anniversary card for DS1 and DIL and sort out their pressie, catch up with the ironing and decide what I am doing for dinner. I took some chicken breasts out of the freezer but don’t know what I’m doing with them yet.

Anyway, off to have a shower so see you all later.

    Morning all,

We met our friends for lunch drinks as usual yesterday and discovered that our DF who died suddenly last week is in Scotland and his wife is having problems getting him back to S/set. so we don't know when the funeral is. She is inconsolable.

Spent most of the afternoon on the phone to my DB who is worried about the biopsy results he will get tomorrow re the melanoma he has been diagnosed with, so all in all not a very good week-end apart from when DD2 called in to see me carrying a huge bouquet of flowers.

Received my new BM on Sat. and have the first batch on the go. Lentil soup simmering away. DH cooked a roast lamb dinner yesterday so we plan to have cold lamb with bubble'n'squeek.

Haven't caught up on here since Friday so off to have a browse.

A quick good morning from sunny Spain now, sorry GB, after a full day of rain on Saturday the sun got it's head in gear and now looks like it could be a bit more settled. Still getting through a layer or two of dust, and hopefully back to a stable/constant connection by after lunch today. Currently it just cuts out on me without warning.

    Hi and good morning.

Little jump for joy as peace and sanity returns to the monkey house. Kids back to school today :j.

Dont really mean it as they are the love of my life but at least I am able to go and play Golf today :D. After that not up to much. Got someone coming round later as my CD Drive has gone invisible and my PC does not recognise it. They have been together for 2 years perhaps they have had a tiff .

    Morning all

Cloudy day here today, but work, so doesn't really matter.

((( hugs ))) to Betheebee, hope your friend manages to get her husband back home, you really don't need all that hassle at such times. Well, it is two years today since my lovely Dad died, and I still miss him every day. We lost Mum nearly six years ago, they both lived to a good age (Mum 84) and Dad 90, but it still didn't seem long enough :o

Still doing Slimming World, so pasta for lunch, and fish and parsley sauce for dinner. I had lost a couple of lbs yesterday, but then went mad last night and had a packet of Maltesers, and some crisps

((( hugs ))) to everyone who needs one, have a good day x

    Morning all,

Been a thoroughly wet and miserable day here. It has poured practically all day. DGS didn't come down so will have him for the day on Friday. He goes to Play Group & Music on Wed & Thursday. Tomorrow I'm meeting up with MeanMarie for lunch. :D I let you know if she's mean or not. ;) Been doing some cleaning, baking & sewing today. I've been listening to Jane Eyre while I work.

Congratulations to Shez & Weeping River on doing the race yesterday. Although I'm not sure how you could run in those boots Shez. ;)

Haribo Where abouts did you post the pictures of your garden? I wanna look. :D
Kyle You can pm me the recipe you know. :p

Hope you all have a lovely day. Will pop back later. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    morning all,

Dull and overcast here, I am hoping it brightens up as I have some washing to do, also need to have a tidy through hoover mop etc, and do an online shop.

Kathy good luck at the dentist, and let me know what you decide to do with the chicken, as I have some left from yesterday which needs to tansform into a meal today :D

Dd is back at school so i have a day to myself ( after housework etc) . I had a good day in the garden yesterday, now we have strimmed the edges I feel much better about going out there, as there is no where for froggies to hide. Although when walking over the lawn, I sunk about an inch in water, everything is hust water logged due to the amount of rain we have had, I do hope its not going to be like last year.

Hugs to smoky, mrs mix, candy and pen pin xx

    Well better get on xx
