Hester I notice that in your sig you say you're not going to make the £4000 a year challenge...but just think how much you are saving compared to what you would have been spending had you not risen to the challenge. It's still all positive stuff!!! :A

    Evening all :hello:

    ((((loopylou))))

Penny Pincher - so pleased that your new help is turning out well.

It was quite a shock to be back at school today. The children seemed a bit dazed too............. until we had assembly with a clown! As a special treat, a circus skills workshop had been booked for Year 2 and he did a whole school assembly. I have to say that he was fantastic, even though he did laugh at me for being left-handed and not being able to spin a plate on a stick (although I did ok on the chinese ribbons - no, not a form of torture). :D

I've been asked to write a reference for the mum of one of my class. She's been offered a job as a midday supervisor and because she's a volunteer reader for my class and she has no other referees then I've been asked to do one. I have no problem about doing it as she's a fantastic help to me, but it's my first reference that I've ever had to write. I don't want to make her sound like Mother Teresa, but at the same time I want to give her a glowing reference as she really does deserve it. :)

Supper tonight was pasta with a veggie sauce that I'd defrosted. I feel almost virtuous. :A That reminds me, I'll have to get some sausages out of the freezer for tomorrow night's supper.

Just done my cashback clicks and Pigsback checking........ Better get on now.

Hi All - had hoped to post before school this morning, but no internet connection. This evening we had salad - just as well as the power all went off for nearly two hours!
Am sticking to my long early walk with the dogs - over a month now! However, nothing OS at all today.
Special ((HUGS)) to tattycath, ronankfan and loopyou today - and for anyone else who needs one. Lovely to see you sounding so cheerful PenPin - you sound as if you're feeling better.

    Hiya :hello:

Big hugs to loopylou and tattycath.

A busy day here as DH was back at school but the girls have another week off. We did some shopping at lots of different shops and I went over budget as I always do when I take them shopping.

I had a phone call from DFS to inform me that my new sofas would be coming sometime on Wednesday, so I've arranged for the old one to be collected tomorrow afternoon, can't wait for my new ones.:D

Now that all of the 4 birthday cakes have been eaten I'm going to attempt to lose some weight. Ideally I'd like to lose at least half a stone but more would be great. I'm being inspired by catowen and pooky and I also intend to cut out the cakes, crisps and biscuits too. I'm going to fill up a huge bottle of water each morning and drink it throughout the day. So far I've managed to drink 1 and a half litres of water, but the downside is that I keep needing the loo.:rotfl: I also need to do more exercise as well.;)

We had roast chicken with lots of veg for tea, followed by strawberries. I bought 2 cooked chickens in Asda for £6 and the carcas' has made lots of stock and we're having chicken fajitas tomorrow. The rest of the meat will be frozen in 2 tubs in some of the stock and I'm going to use the other half of the stock to make veg soup for my lunches. Don't you just love rubber chicken? :D
Tomorrow's plans include a trip into the city centre in the morning to see the posh new shopping complex thingy and then wait in for the blokes to collect my old sofa.
Right I'm off to work out just how much money I spent today and to wash my hair.
    Have a good evening.:D

Up a bit earlier today seeing as I've got 3 hours of public transport ahead of me to meet MeanMarie. I need a couple of coffee's to keep me going. The weather is gloomy but not raining thank goodness. My back is killing me, thanks to the new mattress. As you can see I'm not a morning person. :D

CM You're welcome. Hope he likes it and don't forget to alter your will now. :D
    Tattycath  Cheer up hun.
Loopy I think it's part and parcel of the healing process to do stuff like that. Hope it all goes better next time.

Well I better have a quick scoot around the site and get ready. I hope you have a better sleep than I have had. :D Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Morning Aussie - good luck with your journey - perhaps you could get someone to write it down for you and then you could show it to the driver :D

Mr Caringsharing is gloating as I got no further with Thorpe Park than he did - they insist that I must send a sae - there reasoning is that owner's property is brought on to the park at their own risk and it is their responsibility to recover it. I told them that dd couldn't get replacement glasses for at least a week (lie lie) and that their policy was causing much wastage of time and distress but still no go. I will send the SAE tomorrow with a strong letter of complaint - I am so peed off about their attitude but even more peed off about the gloating. I hope they send me a voucher or something that I can roll up tight and stick up his .....

I've cancelled the veg box today - really sad about that but just can't justify the expense of organic at the moment - my big shop came to over £30 today and that's more than normal. On top of that eldest dd has gone AWOL having promised to give me some board money on saturday as has dsis who owes me £250 for dd(11)'s ticket ..... don't like to keep nagging her for that because they're having her for two weeks but still.

Goodness don't I sound miserable and moany - I'm not honest - I've had quite a nice pottering day really

    hugs all round

    stef
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

    Evening everyone :hello:

Late one from me as we had visitors who stayed for tea and as the meal I had made wouldn't stretch we had an Indian carry out. :D Ate outside again so the kitchen had practically zero mess. ;)

Spent another day cleaning and sorting the house after the weekend and catching up on the washing. Had the shopping done by 9.30am and all my chores done by 1ish so had a read of a magazine in the garden for a hour before picking up the girls. :D It's due to rain tommorrow so I thought I'd enjoy it while I can. ;)

Made ham and mushroom canneloni which we'll now have tommorrow which will free me up to do some paperwork for OH. Ironing tommorrow too and starting to turn my mind to the girls' birthday next weekend. Need to go and make lunches now and lay out the uniforms.

Aussie.... I'll have 2 of those in pink pretty please thankyou. :p (enjoy your meet with MM. ([strike]God love her)[/strike] :p
