morning everyone.
its a holiday here today too, but son had his last exam so had to run him in as the school buses arent running today. was very strange at school, nobody there but the few that are sitting today's exams.
just doing some washing today - stuff which will dry quickly in drier because its very damp out there today.
tonight we are going out ot eat to celebrate the end of exam season and son leaving school. (officially he signs out on Thursday) Can't believe he's that old. was only yesterday I dropped him off on his first day at school. There were kids crying and hanging on to their mothers and he told me to go home! How precious are these milestones in their lives....x x x0 -
Morning everyone
VickyA - glad you enjoyed the concert - i too will be going to the next one if they do one!!!!
Well done to all the Race for Life runners.
Not had a good weekend as the dog had to be taken to the emergency vets and she has an infection on her left leg so came away £70 poorer and with pills and sprays. We also found out that DH nan (who has been ill for quite some time) only has weeks rather than months left to live (will be going to see her on thursday)so its been quite an upsetting few days.
Only DD1 is back at school today - my other 2 go back tomorrow as their school has a bakers day.
Hoping to pop up to the allotments later on today but will have to see how the day goes.
Home made chicken nuggets for tea tonight - havent had them in ages so will be a nice change.
Love Liz xx

flying visit im just back from the vets (roger needed his yearly jabs and i brought 4 months of flea drops so i'm £60 lighter:mad: ) good thing is he got a clean bill of health and passed the cat version of the 'mot';)
first day back at school for all the kids so house is like the mary celeste but needs a real good tidy. eldest DS had stuffed all his mucky cloethes in the back of his wardrobe when i asked him to tidy and put all unifrom in the wash last week so i was struggling to find school stuff to iron for him last night and now i've found his 'stash' the washing basket is piled high.
forgot the libary at the weekend so got to go later and pay a fine on my overdue books:mad: .
i really should tidy before i go to work but i keep looking at my knitting and its very tempting:D .
i hope everyone has something really special in their daySPC~12 ot 124

Hi all.
Beth - (((Hugs))) to your friend and your brother.
PenPin - glad you're feeling a bit better today.
Super Saver - welcome to you - we're a lovely bunch!
Donny-Gal - glad you arrived safely - hope you get a decent connection soon.
Well, dentist went well - no treatment, just a check-up in six months time! So, releif at that and the fact that I don't have to have expensive treatment at the moment. The charity shops were a bit disappointing; it may have been me, I just wasn't really in the mood! I did buy a a few bits and pieces - some nice buttons, a book of crochet patterns - it's a 1970s book but some of the patterns are really good. I also bought a couple of brand new games that I shall put away for the grandchildren. As for trying anything on - I just couldn't be bothered! I did buy some local strawberries, though; locally, we think ours are the best in world! Years ago it was a main industry here and they were distributed all over the country - they even built a little railway station just for the strawberries. We shall have those for pudding with cream as long as I don't eat them all myself.
RedRuby - I have to decide between Tarragon Chicken - cook the breasts in foil in the oven with olive oil, tarragon and the Co-op's fantastic chicken seasoning (which I put on practically everything - it really brings out the flavour of any meat. It's on the Indian counter and costs 49p for a packet that lasts for months - it's one of my best finds) OR something else that I invented which always goes down well - a stir fry with chicken and bacon which has been seasoned with cumin and coriander. It's really tasty piled on top of lettuce and cucumber and served with new pots. I think I've decided on the stir fry! TBH, I get so fed up thinking of meals - we seem to have eaten nothing but mince in various forms lately or pork tenderloin, also in many disguises! I must make a real effort to look in the indexed collections this week!
Well, all this talk of food has made me hungry so I'd better get going. I need to prep for dinner first, have my lunch and then do the ironing I didn't get round to doing yesterday.
See you all later.

Good morning all:D
Sorry, I've not read yet, promise I'll do so as soon as I finish this, but I was a little excited.:o The postman came today, bearing a parcel:j :j A parcel from a lovely friend who lives the other side of the world:j :j Thanks Aussie:D :kisses3: :T :j Our own lovely Aussie made her DGS a beanbag a while ago. I admired ( and envied:o ) it greatly, and she has made one almost identical for my DGS and posted it to me:D
I'm going to go get the bags of filling and then it will be done. HERE is the link to her post and photo in the sewing thread.
Off to read the thread now, but I just had to share my excitement:DYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0
