Advice on Potty training
Comments

Name and shame the ones who sent you nasty pm's then put them on your ignore list0
-
its the strongest people that ask for help and then accept advice, you should be commended for recognising that you might need new strategies0

There are so many argumentative, antagonistic, opinionated, patronising people cruising these forums who offer no constructive advice at all. They seek only to psycho-analyse and find 'motives' for someone asking a perfectly reasonable question.
I read a lot on these forums and have come across some absolutely disgusting attacks on people. It's bullying - plain and simple.
As suggested, block the stirrers and report any abuse, which incidentally, I hope you ignore. These people are complete strangers and know nothing about your parenting skills. The fact that you bothered to post on a forum to ask advice would suggest to me that you are a caring parent.
Good luck with the potty training...which I think was the original point of this thread?!0 -
I call them the 'witch-hunt brigade' It does boil down to a few individuals who twist every little thing people say..
Name and shame and put on ignore (we want them named so we can all ignore them too..)

im sorry to say a few readers have picked up on a quote saying im suprised by your attitude its not a battle of wills and i have recieved some nasty pms which has upset me a great deal saying im a bully to my daughter and i shouldnt have children. I love my children and i havent battled with my daughter we havent argued over the potty nor have I raised my voice to her. I am living in a new town with no family or friends to turn to I dont belive I came across as having a bad attitude and if i did im really sorry. I will find an alternative for advice in the future.
You can report those PMS; there is a button integrated which you can use.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
who on earth sent you nasty emails. Report them sweetie
I have no advice, but saw that you had recieved abuse and wanted to give you a ((hug))0 -
Urg ignore the know it alls who are too cowardly to post in public.
I would be tempted to leave it a little longer - mine were just gone 2 and nearly 3 when they quit nappies and both did so in a day or 2 by themselves - imo if they need 'training' they aren't ready. Interestingly my ds who 'trained' late at 3 was dry at night after 3 days in pants- my dd who was out of day nappies at 2 was another 2 years to be dry at night!!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

OP thanks for this thread....just forwarded the link to a friend who is having similar problems, she'll find it a HUGE help:cool:for more 'advanced' children you can actually track your turds on some website or something, it follows the sewage pipes from your house and tracks it on google earth to the outflow, quite interesting for the more anal of us!

Hi OP,
My daughter is only just dry in the day at 2years 10 months, and we only started potty training last month when she turned around one day and refused to wear a nappy and insisted on wearing pants instead. Like you we have a new baby in the house so although I wanted her trained I didnt push the issue and she has done it herself. If Im honest she has probably had only 2 accidents since that day that she told me she wasnt wearing nappies anymore.
She still wears nappies at night and I wont be taking her out of them until she starts having dryer nappies come morning time.
When it comes to pooing she wasnt keen at first but now we have to stand and wave bye to the poo when we 'turn the toilet over' lolSealed Pot Challenge Member 151
