There are rough types on MSE - surely not;)
Getting sort of back on thread and acknowledging that it is the price of land that goes up and down:
We will all be missing threads like this between now and Xmas (2012 ?), won't we?.

Thanks. Can you explain how to find various areas in the early 90's crash? I can only see figures for 2006 and 2007.
Would be very interested to see more detailed data.

Scroll left and right to see prices going back to 1988:wall:

An awful lot of years have an average price of £0 recorded in my area.
And there was me thinking that a nice house for 75k was being optimistic
Here's to 100% falls! :T

Yeah, I saw that for some area's, I presumed that the data was not available or there was some changes to the borough or something.
Sorry I can't do anything to fix any that have not recorded the figures for that year.
If you are missing one year (say 1993), you could take the average between the years 1992 and 1994, not as the actual price, but so that you can follow the trend between years with actual figures.
I hope you managed to get some good useable data though:wall:

Hehe sadly most of the figures are zero for the two towns I'm interested in - one of them only has figures for 1988, 1989, 2002, and 2003, the other has those years plus 2000 and 2001. No worries though, it's still very interesting data regardless of the holes.
The data shows me that my area has actually been far worse affected by the boom than I had expected. Average price 2002 ~77k, average price 2003 ~103k, that's +33% IN ONE YEAR  For some reason I had been under the impression that prices had remained fairly sane round hereMaybe my 'maximum drop of 25% over a couple years in the local area' guesstimate was a bit conservative
Thanks for the link IveSeenTheLight, without a shadow of a doubt you're my favourite bull on here :money:0
