A good couple of posts on your first thread, from hearts:

"Quite simply I keep bashing them because they are and always have been wrong.
People have written here that they talk a lot of sense and a lot of what they say on their site has come true, but the very reason for their site was/is to predict a HPC, it hasn't happened and I don't think it will."

"I agree with this but rather than a crash I think they will flatten out and stay flat for a while."
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

There's a far easier way of finding such posts. Just search for anything by Mr. Broderick or Pickles ..... :D

Dont mean to be rude - and i am all FOR a good ol' fashioned crash - but do these threads not highlight forecasts of a slow down/crash?

    Failing to see the point...........
Yes, I've been quite suprised by the volume of sensible posts from back then.

The point is to find the most aggressively confident "they won't be any fall in prices" style poster so we can remember how it was.
    Happy chappy

There was a dangermouse or dangerman or something like that a little while back - a twenty year old btl gazillionairre with a porche and a firm belief that it was 'different this time'. I wonder how he's doing these days.

    Hi,

I never seen the crash coming but I wasn't really looking for it to be honest;). I watched the credit crunch and the fall in US house prices and thought - might not happen here as "demand is strong". Think I started getting interested when the Rock went and then slowly seeing the impact on banking in the UK. When Libor moved away from BOE I think I knew we were screwed.

Interestingly, I do think the internet has made this a different crash from the early 1990's - sites like HOC.co.uk & maybe even MSE.

When I did "wake-up"/ "have a light bulb moment" I learned alot from you guys. - and much quicker than I would have done 15 years ago. You got me quickly up to speed.:D:cool:

I remember there was some issue with the servers about 6 months ago and it might be that not all old posts were able to be resurrected and brought forward to today's platform.

Which is why the history doesn't seem to go back far.
