They are of little use - all they say, in short, is if you continue to make deposits, the account will continue, otherwise it won't.

Depends how it was set up, and whether you've modified it since - i.e. it depends on the status of the standing order now.

If you'd asked Halifax to set up the SO for you (you'd have filled in a form, handed it to Halifax, and they'd have passed it to your bank,) it should have specified an SO for X amount on DD date for 12 payments/until DD/MM/YY, so it should stop automatically.

If you set up the SO yourself, or have changed it if you went the above route, it depends on what state it's in at the moment.

Some of the better online facilities with banks allow you to set up an SO for either X payments/end on DD/MM/YY, or "Until Further Notice." - check with your bank to see what the SO says.

I linked the regular saver to a Halifax Guaranteed Reward Saver (6.25% fixed) in order to get 12%.

The r/s will mature Saturday 27th June and transfer to the Reward Saver, in which I'll then have well over £10K. The Reward Saver will mature on Saturday 4th June and presumably revert to 0.5% then.

I have several current accounts with HBOS. In my experience Faster Payments are very patchy. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Maximum per transfer (presumably per destination) is £1000. I could transfer out to a dozen different FP accounts. But I can just imagine how FP is going to be playing up on that day costing me £1.20 a day.

I remember from a previous car purchase that it was a major exercise getting several K in cash. Not too keen on walking across the High Street with lots of cash either.

Does anyone know the total daily FP limit?
Has anyone got a fast get-out plan?

I've just managed to send on the same day by FP from Halifax to my Tesco a/c, £1000 followed by £900. (Total £1900)

In the past, Halifax refused to send the second payment by FP when I tried to send £990 so today I tried £900.

Being a Halifax Reward tart , it was comparitively easy for me to move mine, although it wasn't as much as you are looking to move.

I managed 1k followed by £500 on many of the accounts. The joint account, for some reason or other, was the most awkward.

My money has winged its way to the Lloyds Vantage Account (4%), specially set up to receive it. £250 has found its way into their regular saver at 5%.

You mean you transferred £1K plus £500 out of several HBOS accounts?
    To the same destination?
How many K did you shift on one day?

Around £6,750, all to the same destination, using a total of 5 reward accounts, in 1k and £500 multiples.

This should give you some sort of hope when it comes to your turn, Dagobert.

I have been trying to withdraw the matured RS money from the Halifax Web Saver (Variable) but keep getting the message "Unfortunately payments are not available from the account you selected"

Just wondered if I was missing something obvious before I ring them (to close the account)

Mine has matured and the money transferred out.

For some reason £500 was transfered in AFTER the money matured and was transfered out. Anyone else had this? It means I have made 13th payments?
