Could somebody change the name of this thread - each time it pops up the thought of 10% gets me way too excited :D

    Thank you KTF :)
And am I safe for this year's regular saver by moving my pay in date this month to the 27th, to after the account matures (21st)?
If the payment for this month has already gone in then you should be OK to move it but the change is instant so you ould wait until it has matured if you want to be on the safe side.

I would also check that the account number is going to remain the same for the new one before you make the change as well.

    Thank you apt :D

Thank you KTF - The payment for June has not already gone in. But I will have made 12 payments before it matures on the 21st. Is that okay?

I have moved Junes payment to the 27th to start my new regular saver. Ideally, I should have moved June's payment to the beginning of the month to use this years rate (as apt correctly pointed out to me!). & Then moved my first payment for the new year to soon after the 21st, and then to the beginning of July.

    (I think???) :D

    A warning about transfering out.
I tried it on the day the regualar saver was transfered to the web saver and it was rejected and asked me to call Halifax. Apparently you can transfer out but have to wait for the account to be updated overnight.
I tried again today and it was accepted.

    I've been Money Tipped!
My regular saver flipped over to the web saver when it said it woudl. As soon as I lofgged in that morning I transferred all the money to my Halifax c/a then straight over to Lloyd's in 7 faster payments of £500 each, all on the same day.
  • I have made several attempts also to transfer out to a different bank ( I don't have a C/A with Halifax) I kept getting the message 'Try Again Later'. Have noticed that each time I have had an email saying-:

    Dear Customer,

Your bill payment or money transfer request has now been created and is available for you to use.

    Regards,

    Halifax Online Helpdesk

But it isn't letting me transfer still? I shall wait until tomorrow and try one more time before contacting them.
  • As per the post above - I was able to transfer to funds this morning fine. Looks as if you do have to wait 24 hours after the balance has been transferred to the nominated account.

Joined the party a bit late - matured today what are the best options with where to move the proceeds from the Guaranteed Saver - preferably within Halifax as this seems to drop to 0.5% once matured.

You could move them to a Halifax Web Saver Reward Account (2.50% fixed for 12 months - upto 4 withdrawals a year).

I'm having trouble making a withdrawal from the Guaranteed Saver Reward Account to Tesco - it just quotes "Bill payments and other transfers cannot be set up on this account." Any ideas?

    Guaranteed Saver is rubbish online!

They will probably let you open a Web Saver Reward in about 60 seconds and then you will be able to move the money onwards and outwards from there.

Leave £1 in the Web Saver though ... that will protect a 2.5% rate for you for 12 months, just in case rates elsewhere dwindle.
