I'd guess ebay is just being glitchy for me then. Nothing new there!

I was about to thank you, then I read the last line.
Just as well ebay sellers can't leave negative feedback here, then!

My story is similar to those that have already posted, I am a powerseller of nearly 9 years I have a feedback rating ( over the 9 years) of 11,000 positives, 18 neutral and 8 negatives. This makes my rating 99.8%, however Ebay reckon that it is 99.1%.
Until the changes, powersellers like you didn't need to give a stuff about leaving customers like me unhappy - you could take the hit with impunity and many people would know no better than to trust a seller with a rating in the nineties. Now you need to care.

Thanks Dustangle. I've enjoyed your posts. You put the case more eloquently than I ever could.

Pull your socks up, sellers! This is consumer revenge at its very best.

The sellers have had it good for too long on Ebay, holding buyers to ransom on feedback. I suggested years ago to Ebay that the feedback should be blind and unchangeable to both parties.

I think Ebay have gone for a stupid system, but if all (or more of ) the sellers had previously supported change and supported blind feedback, to stop the blatant blackmail on feedback that was occuring
then maybe Ebay would have gone for a blind feedback system and maybe I'd have more sympathy for sellers now.
  • Looks like i'm now about to get my second neg..... I posted an order to Usa, the lady says its not what she wanted and wants to return it and wants a full refund and all her postage back and EXTRA money for me to pay for it to be returned... She said she will neg if I dont. I wont give her the postage because I fear a neg, I know I will get it, but ive just got to take it on the chin.

    Ebay are being so unfair....

Report it! Feedback extortion is an offence which Ebay will investigate.

I think that some of the posters to this assume that all power sellers are making huge profits, and unscrupulous sellers. That is simple not the case I was a power seller until recently - I made £2200 profit last year - hardly mega bucks ,huh. I sell to make ends meet until I can return to work. Do you know how much I have paid ebay and paypal in fees in the same period - £2100 !!! Every feedback matters to me and always has and I have bent over backwards for my buyers. I have had the regulation 2 nutters who have left me negs despite both receiving full refunds for items 'lost' in the post! without having to wait the 3 + months it takes me to get the money back off the PO.

To gain bronze powerseller status you need to turnover £750 and 12 items a month hardly big business is it.

Keep punishing the bad sellers and they'll find ways round it while honest sellers like me get screwed.

Hang on a minute, 18 neutrals and 8 negatives from an 11,000 rating, over 9 years, makes me a bad seller. I would also like to add that most of the neutrals and negatives were completely undeserved and due to the inability of the post office to do their job. There are bad sellers and there needs to be a way to distinguish, however I don't believe this is it. I would also like to agree with the poster who says that her profit come to only as much as her fees. Ebay is solely on the side of the buyer, try winning a paypal chargeback claim!

Bending over backwards is exactly right. There is nothing more that we could do for our buyers, I assure you.
    Loving the dtd thread. x
