Ebay Scandal

I dislike the monopolies of ebay and papal- they are a disgrace. I think that basically Australia has said it is anti competitive just to pay by paypal and said they can't but they are going ahead anyway. I hope they get their backsides kicked into touch. It all very well making a profit but what about customer service, fair and reasonable treatment for buyers and sellers?
I wish a rival more ethical alternative would be set up. I wish I knew how to set one up!!! Or if anyone knows of one already let me know.Green and minimal chemicals is the new black- I know a fair old bit about sustainability, specially energy and transport stuff. If I can help- please ask!0 -
soolin is correct - it is a breach of the rules to use one account whilst another is suspended and that is indeed what I did. I do wonder however why soolin is on the proverbial soapbox so much though!?!
The only reason I did break that rule was eBays appalling attitude; not withstanding the fact that a) I was actually innocent of the accusation; and b) it's hard work paying your mortgage when your income is reduced for no good reason. eBay assumed I was guilty and consistently ignored me when I tried prove I was innocent. It took four days just to find out what I'd been accussed of.
I couldn't care less whether or not I break eBays rules. I don't scam my customers and I accept returns without any hassle. eBay on the other hand does as little as possible to remove the tons of overseas scammers and consistently puts fees up without any improvement in service.
EDIT: out of interest I just checked, my Item as described score is 4.9 out of 5.0 and communication is 4.8; I bet eBay sellers wouldn't rate eBay's customer service or communication as even 0.8 out of 5.0EGG are a bunch of complete bankers!0 -

Not sure if Ebay allow this, but its just a thought.......
Yes, I did that once, i.e. I left negative comments as part of positive feedback. The seller retaliated by leaving me neutral feedback because I'd had the cheek to complain that they had mis-described/exaggerated the quality of the goods. So my feedback record was marred. There was such a disincentive to leave any adverse comments, that I either leave good feedback or nothing. It disorts eBay and makes it look better than it really is. Another seller left me a negative feedback for not paying, when I had paid, and he'd sent me the goods! I complained to eBay about the unjuistified negative feedback (mistake even) but they would not remove it. Fair or what? It stinks.0 -
It's not alllowed there's an Ebay category for reporting it, nobody reads the comments anyway so it just looks like a positive, just don't leave any feedback and put them on your blocked list.0

I note you still refuse to say, whether you have told the sellers that their money is now in your paypal - in all likelyhood going to be available to you in Nov - and your willingness to repay them.
(I've only asked you like 4 times now)
And - assuming you have not informed them of this and your willingness to repay them in Nov - we'd like to know how you can possibly think of yourself as "honest".
BTW Paypal is not FSA regulated, not anymore.0 -

No, I haven't told them.
Paypoo NOT FSA-Regulated? That wouldn't surprise me. Is that something to do with offices now in ROI and relocation to Luxembourg?0 -
It's the Luxembourg thing, yes.0

I guess the fact ebay have not indicated any further revision of rules suggests they are happy to have listened to their customers, provided what their own customers requested and are pleased with the overall results to date.
They have less problems by keeping the 'perfect sellers!
This means the spend less to be the arbitrary body when there are seller/buyer disputes.
If they are doing they rather have a plan - which is always to make money or the owners are tired of the business and are going bonkers!0 -
Also why do you think the buyers on ebay are any different to buyers on amazon?
On amazon, buyers can leave any feedback they want (just like ebay) but there's no issue of unjust poor feedback being left.
Whilst its true that amazon sellers could leave feedback (either good or bad) for buyers, in reality many don't bother since hardly anyone sees it anyway. Sellers cannot prevent buyers with extremely bad feedback from buying (unlike ebay) but then again sellers are guaranteed payment once a transaction is confirmed. (but that still doesn't stop a bad buyer making an a-z claim/chargeback which is more severe than any paypal claim/chargeback)
That is why many sellers on Amazon still are ther only to get more hits on their own websites!
