Ebay Scandal

  • No Somebozo there are always people like that, however surely the seller has the right to warn others that a buyer is a problem.

Do sellers actually check feedback of every person who bids to see if they are 'bad buyers'. I know I never have and probably never will and I only sell bits of tat lying around at home. Surely high volume sellers just wouldn't have the time. Neg feedback on one hand doesn't bother me (I only have a couple over 2 years for ridiculous reasons) as a straight to the point follow up reply exposes those stupid/malicious/ridiculous buyers to any future buyer. The only thing I have issue with is that sellers seem to be getting suspended because of this new system, through no fault of their own.

    The facts are that :

    Negative feedback has always existed.
    Unwarranted negative feedback always existed.

All thats happened is the "window" of time taken has narrowed a little. The problems with negative feedback was always there.

Problems in the last 30 days are more reflective of problems then years of positives.

Its fairer now IMO and the move by ebay makes it a fairer comminuty to buy and sell in.

Unwarranted negatives aside, only sellers with something to hide need to be worried now.

You never know who might be listening to you, Mr. Crook, when you boast about dishonesty and criminal activity.

Trouble is, they might think you're taking the p*ss and trolling. Still, no harm in giving you enough rope.

Just keep talking mate. Don't mind me. And don't worry about these notes that I'm making. Just carry on boasting.

    A suicide bid from Ebay.

Amazon.co.uk or amazon.com is becoming a viable alternative for sellers.

Let ebay have it's fancy rules and lack of customer service and no customers to spoil their day. Other methods of online selling are being developed as quickly as ebay is spoiling our sales.

Amazon has its place I agree, although UK sellers cannot sell on Amazon.com only Amazon.uk. However it doesn't suit the smaller seller as they have no auctions just fixed price new goods available in the Amazon catalogue. For people using ebay to sell off unique items, or second hand goods it is not viable at all.

I have a very large stock of book on Amazon but I list a dozen or so at a time on ebay from the slow stock on Amazon and at the moment Ebay is outselling Amazon for my books by about 2:1. If you look on the Amazon seller boards as well there is thread after thread bemoaning the lack of sales, so it looks like the downturn is not limited to just ebay.

No. I didn't. Some little p!ssant must've complained to the mods or something. I deleted nothing. If the mod who deleted it was honest enough to say so on here, you wouldn't have made this post I am responding to.

I stand by everything I said. My contempt for the barrack-room lawyers that infest this thread. I have done nothing 'criminal'. Never would.
