Ebay Scandal

If there were any other option of sending 'normal' mail then most sellers would take it. As a seller you are responsible for the listing and sending it out on time etc, however when you pay the only service available to do a job, you expect that job to be done. It is niether the fault of the seller or the buyer. As for warning that the goods won't be delivered, that is silly, we all know about the royal mail's incompetence, genuine sellers do not need to point out this information.Loving the dtd thread. x0

I DIDN'T TAKE THE SELLERS' MONEY!
I PAID THEM IN GOOD FAITH!

I DIDN'T WANT THEIR MONEY BACK!
PAYPAL HAVE IT!
I will get it in 3 months.
And in three months you will be paying it back to the sellers then? You have not made that part too clear.
I shan't answer the "dimwit" comment, I wold not want to embarrass you - it's unfair to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

I PAID THEM IN GOOD FAITH!
So?
I DON'T HAVE THEIR MONEY!
But you will soon have money that should be theirs
I DIDN'T WANT THEIR MONEY BACK!
PAYPAL HAVE IT!
I will get it in 3 months.
Your getting an item for FREE, and a poor seller is getting screwed...Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0 -

Ignoring your much-copied forum-endemic one-liner, I did state that I would keep it after the 6 months as sellers have written it off.
As for 'embarrassment' your sort invariably embarrass themselves; I require no efffort thus to do this.0 -

Kay peel - how exactly am I going to sort out royal mail? I refund I should not get a neg or neutral if I do that. I then get my money back from Royal Mail - basically what you are saying is I shouldn't sell. I don't actually know the percentage that Royal Mail lose or that my customers say they lose, do I ? I buy off ebay too and if an item didn't arrive, but I was refunded and they didn't try and say you claim off the PO like lots of sellers then I wouldn't neg them. Be reasonable . I do not blame my customers for being dishonest, I am realistic and think that a certain percentage probably are dishonest, what percentage that is I don't know. But the dishonest ones can still neg me just for the hell of it, can't they. They can ruin the tiny profit I make from ebay.
I really don't know what you expect me to do? I have complained to the PO until I am blue in the face , I always refund the person and then claim back from Royal Mail myself.
As it happens I have stopped ebay Tbh I am better off not selling as the govt take nearly 2/3 in loss of tax credits - with these changes and unreasonable buyers I can't be doing with it for the moment. Well , there is another seller out of the market to decrease competition and therefore allow my competitors to up their price.0 -
Moving the thread back to the original discussion.
I am a seller and buyer on ebay. I specialise in one paticular item, I am the only seller on ebay of this item. I usually sell one per week.
I really think sellers (small time and power) have got their knickers in a twist over this for no real reason.
All thats happened is the balance of power has shifted to the middle. In past years power sellers could hide negs or a string of negs in their high % popularity rating. Couple this with the "neg me and ill neg you" mentality and the feedback rating was not working. The whole point of it was to be honest for all.
People who leave unjustifed negative feedback (sellers and buyers) were always out there, they are not new.
Some Bozo0 -
No Somebozo there are always people like that, however surely the seller has the right to warn others that a buyer is a problem. I don't know why buyers got so upset about tit for tat negs. It doesn't stop them from buying AT ALL.
For instance our 'friend' Lowellcrooks - because sellers can't comment on item 'lost' then subsequent sellers that he cons don't know that he makes a habit of this.
The whole change is not just about feedback it is a LOT more. Feedback didn't work, no and it still doesn't. It is a waste of effort and I have always thought that - I don't feedback on my buyer account unless the service is exceptional or rubbish.
I wonder if when - because it will happen even if they are just malicious - you receive your negative and are excluded from ebay posssibly for ever you will have the same attitude.
Maybe we should all be leaving feedback if a buyer says PO lost his item to say that and soon it would be clear which buyers are fraudulent.0
