Just a quick post as I have updated my signature. We were away for the weekend so this is the first chance I have had. I can't believe how many pages there are!
My spend for the first week of the month included £83.25 spent online with Tesco, which included £9 off, thanks to the voucher thread. :j
I have also looked at overall spend for May, when I wasn't doing the challenge, and we spent a total of £440. Oops. We're definitely feeling the pinch with the price increases now - I really don't think I bought much more than usual. This did include a wholefood wholesale order (rice, breadflour, pasta and Ecover stuff) and I won't be doing that this month. But even so, it was high.
We need more sun, to bring on everything in the garden. Hope the slugs don't eat ALL my veggies....

Thanks for that, but that is from vetsuk. It's for 2 rather large doggies, and 2 cats.

We also had our first strawberry from the garden this evening which was lush. Also planted out a squash plant, chilli pepper plant and Mange Tout (Mange Tout) plant. I've also made a lucious looking banana loaf and am off now to look up wine brewing.
On the down side I had to send hubby out cos I couldn't find any eggs on the local farms I usually get them from, and I'd forgotten to buy pasta and garlic bread

We are decorating the boys bedrooms, but the former owners painted the small room in a dark purple, after 6 coats, it is still shining through!
I know I'm probably preaching to the converted here, but have you tried painting over the dark purple walls with white paint first then with the more expensive coloured paint after? It's much cheaper to paint over with white than it is to use a coloured emulsion and it helps neutralize the colour first too.
Ifonlyitwaseasier thanks for the link to the Daily Mail piece, you're right, I'm depressed now. I think we all already knew that on here, we see prices going up while we watch them on MySupermarket, but what gets me is how do they make inflation only 2.5%, yet, to quote the article
"The raw material price of oil going into factories leapt by 83.8per cent in the year to May.
The figure for home produced food, meat, fruit, vegetables, wheat and other crops went up 31.3per cent.
The cost of food leaving processors and manufacturers rose by 11per cent, which is the biggest figure since 1986, driven by hikes on fresh meat, except poultry, and ham."
Excuse my french on this please but what a load of B******ks (or bill hooks as my OH says) Do they think we're that thick we can't see "massaged figures" when we see them.....     Ohhh, better not get started and get off track again....
On a lighter note.... Spent £44.50 on Sunday for weeks groceries including F&V and just had to top up with a couple of bits today - £9.35 as forgot cereal, yeast, tea, sugar etc..(don't ask - forgot to put them on Sundays list and I can only buy whats on the list!:rotfl: ) plus £3.60 for DS's lunch as left home without it today - Total £57.45 then went and spent £7.38 on 2 fillet burger meals at KFC as haven't been home until this evening except to drop of work stuff, so had to feed myself and DS on the run - luckily Hubby away in Liverpool working at the mo or another £3.69... So total this week is £64.83 - 17p under budget if I can last until Friday:o

Hi Guys,
came home from work yesterday, I had forgotten to take the packed lunch with me to work and was soo tired i had to succumb to a takeaway (hangs head in shame) havent had one in over two months! Oh well will be more organised today.
On a positive my melon plants and tomato plants have loads of flowers on them and had a couple of strawberries off the plants last night which cheered me up a bit. DH went for an interview today so watch this space..
Mandy moo1 - sorry you are not feeling too good and sorry to hear about your pets, I know its hard to keep positive I know how I am with mine, my diet has taken a real whacking due to stuff recently (I am a bit of a comfort eater and so diet has gone out the window and then I feel bad cos I've over eaten!) so hugs to you at this time
Linzmac, Brassic and Bodmin 789 - welcome the guys are great here and you can always ask any questions. there are always great tips and recipes and if you come accross any on your way let us know.JanGC £250/£82 far:weight loss 1lb cc250/£86/cm40/£9.50 :A0 -

hoping i only have to go out for loo rolls and some dog treats. i'm trying to teach my youngest yorkie, Dylan, to stop barking at other dogs when we're out, and i need something to reward him....can't be good for him giving him digestives all the time!
well best get on. hope everyone has a good one xx
thanx for that dink1....you sneaked on when i was still typing!0 -
morning all!
am planning a proper nsd today after being tempted by lidl yesterday (darn that cheap convenient store!) and as i'm car-less that makes it easier to spend nothing.
i've got potato salad and flaked rainbow trout at home ready for a quick easy dinner and have sausage sandwiches for lunch
Denise i know what you mean, how can the government expect us to believe that inflation is so low when so many other indicators are screaming at us?!?!?!?!Nonny mouse and Proud!!
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience!!
