397g can carnation condensed milk (thought I'd better state brand as I've pinched their recipe!! LOL)

I havent seen any other brand for ages! I've been looking out as I use condensed milk for baking, but only buy it when its on special. I noticed that carnation have expanded their range as well. For £2.15 you can buy a can of ready made caramel  Aye right!

ETA - Hmmm, read some more of the thread and other people have seen it for £1.64 as per mysupermarket. I wonder what it was that carnation were selling for £2.15 in my local Somerfield?
  • Evening all! Gosh this thread grows so quickly I can't keep up!

Having a bit of a dilema this evening- Asda refunded a petrol payment to me today that appeared to have been charged to me erroneously- but when I got home and checked my statement I think that the payment should have been there as, although, it was weeks ago, and I could have sworn blind it was on my statement, it wasn't so it does appear they didn't claim it a first time (not sure if that makes sense!)-- now I feel bad because I have taken the refund in error--- what should I do??

Another restful evening gone to worrying then!

Just discovered why the two days on the yoghurt cake- cos now its even scrummier!!

  • Denisefowler I'm intrigued, what did you blow up in a can?:rotfl:
I once had a nasty experience in Lidl, haven't shopped there since (go to Aldi) Went in years ago and there was a hideous smell, never mind, I started to put a few things in my trolley but got halfway round and the smell was making me feel sick. I put the stuff back and was skulking through the checkout with my empty trolley, the girl on the till must have seen my activities and said don't worry about the smell, it was a tin of dog meat which exploded as matter-of-factly as you could when discussing such a topic (I could see a brown stain on the ceiling). My concern at the time was - how bad must that tin have been and how much methane was there (or such gas) to make a stainless steel tin explode??? yuch. Aaaannnny waaaay, fond memories . Enough I'll get banned from this thread for going off the thread.:D

    evening all

just popped in to say hi, and to update my siggy. went to tesco for my dog food and dog biscuits, and managed to use my £4.50 Daily Mail coupon, and another one for £1.50, so my shopping only cost me 80p :j

not feeling too happy at mo....went outside earlier to water my spuds and all the stems have snapped. they must've got blown about too much in the wind....i really hope the spuds themselves will still be able to grow _pale_

right, off to try and catch up on some posts now xx

edited to say thanx to Orkney Star and Guns&Banjos for sending your best wishes for Missy....the vet at the PDSA has said that she does in fact have a degenerative eye disease, and she will eventually go blind in one eye in the next year or so. he's given me some eye drops to try and slow it down a bit, but in herself she's still a happy little thing!

Don't know where yourspuddlies are planted but if the stems are still attatched -just... spike a few canes in the ground/tub and loop string around to help support them. I have done that in my 1st 2 tubs as they were getting that tall they were trying to flop..
my 1st lot -desiree have flowers now... so i had a litle rummage earlier and spote my first spuddly :j ..oh an whilst im rambling... 1 of my cumbers has now gone up to having to 11 cumbers on and more showing signs... and 1 tomato has over 65 flowers/buds and more appearing too :j ...ooohh exciting :rotfl:

    Hi all,

Been watching this post for sometime now, but only just got around to registering. I'm not in a position to submit my monthly grocery spend at the moment as, hopefully, moving in the next couple of weeks and also away on our hols on Friday. But thought I'd let you know that I have tried a few of your recipes and they have been great, you have all helped me assess what I spend, and we have been trying (fairly successfully) at reducing the weekly grocery shop. Made Chinese takeaway curry (recipe from a different site) but did make the naan breads today, and they were lovely.

Well, that's about it. Great thread, and please keep those recipes coming.
