June 2008 Grocery Challenge

Just realised that I haven't spent any money on groceries since Friday! That's 4 NSD's in a row - unheard of for me!
Will try to keep it up - shouldn't really need anything until the weekend - maybe some squash/pop?
Does anyone know if Tesco accept the Morrison £5 off vouchers and if so do they have to be used during the correct week IYSWIM?i.e. the week that it says on the voucher for use in Morrisons?
It woudl be much easier for me if Mr T takes them, its just round the corner and much bigger than Mr M.
Thanks!0 -
3. Love the idea for making the coconut gloop easier to handle Lucifer...I'm also debating getting one of those silcone sheets to help with rolling out pastry & stuff--have you tried them?
Haven't tried the silicone sheets - I keep thinking about it but the price puts me off. I might get it now I'm doing more baking. Until recently I only really cooked savoury from scratch on a regular basis but that has changed since joining this challenge!26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

Yes they take them, but its still the same T&C's as Mr M so i would assume you have to use the right weekThe trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

I use the silicone sheets all the time - bought a set of them when I had money to burn (!) - a round one, a few flat ones including a couple that are cut at the corners so they go in deep dishes IYSWIM (you could do this yourself though of course). Wouldn't be without them, never have to grease/line a baking sheet/tin & am convinced I would not do so much baking if I had to. Just bear in mind not to cut your tray bakes etc with a sharp knife - after cutting slits in mine I now use a plastic 'lettuce knife' that does the job brilliantly.New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Ooo - I think a trip to the shops might be in oerder for lunchtime. If they're that good it'll save in parchment/grease in the long run right???26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

I'm surprised all you MSE'ers still use kitchen towel. I've got a bunch of old tea towels chopedd into 4 that I use and just bung in the wash basket every day. Its years since I bought kitchen towel and I can't say I miss it.26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

Last week Lidl had silicon baking sheets for £1.99 - unfortunatley only 1 left when I got there - but it jumped into my trolley double quick!0

will be trying some of them out!
and who said potatoes are boring?????:?
meant to say you can add chunks of potato to any curry (par boil and finish in curry sauce when cooking it) to bulk it out. Utterly delicious!
I( know I've mentioned this earlier in the thread but at nearly 180 pages it might be hard to find;) )26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073
