    Hi Bob

What an up and down few days this has been for you. I'm sorry about your neighbour - I know what you mean about the community. There isn't realy a community spirit here where I live, but there's an elderly couple who moved in when the houses were built in the 1960s, and they're now looking for sheltered accommodation. Everyone talks to them, and I think a lot of what community spirit there is will go when they go..... so sad.....

But..... there are other things in your post too.... your runner beans! Vera Waters! Even the lack of trauma in meeting up with the backstabber - all of that is good! I'm glad to hear there are still bright spots. Have a good one today too....

:grouphug: ...but as the others have said, it's lovely to know that there are still people and communities that care for each other like that.

Great news on the beans (I discovered yesterday that I have actual little potatoes growing, exciting isn't it?).. and on your reaction to the old colleague.

    Have a good day x

  • Thanks everyone, i know that there is an awful lot to be greatful for, and i really do appreciate the fact that i can talk to everyone here, about things.

I can also empathise with the chord struck about community spirit, everyone knows someone who just brightens their day up..a quick natter, shared reminisence, cup of tea...even just saying hello, when you have had a bad day.It all counts.

    Onwards and upwards...

I do have an inner smile, as i think back on lots of great stuff, and will continue to do so...just laughing at thoughts of childhood misdemeaners, which included a large pair of knickers on the line and a sling and mud...i shall say no more:rolleyes: I was always a bit of a tom boy, but then you all know that:rotfl:

aww hugs bob sounds like an emotional day! Escapee bob sends a hug. He had his first taste of cage freedom yesterday (with cats locked out!!) and rather liked it!
Well done on x-collegue! Those ones are emtionally tough arent they? I had a friend who I was v.supprtive of & then found out she's been living a double life. Was incredibly hurt and it tok a long while to get over that one but like you was able to see that my life actualy was better investing in relatiships that were mutually beneficial and balanced & I havent looked back. The few friends I have are precious & have the same values and are mutualy valuable rather than give, give...much better for us?!
Also sorry to hear about neighbor - very sad but lucky you to live in the same place for so long!! This (8yrs) is the longest I've lived anywhere!! Mind you I also have lovely neighbors who hopefully will let me do the sheets on their line so naughty poppy cat doesent wee on them!
Also fab re the beans. Mine seem to have developed sunburn!! I share the excitement though as the potatoe plants are peeking out and we have a couple of edible strawberries yum yum! Sweetcorn also growing nicely in the greenhouse! Simple pleasures!
Hope you have a good day my lovely! Get some huggles from the OH & kids and be gentle with you....:)
