You should be bragging to them about your moonwalk.
Sorry you are feeling lonely, midsummer blues?
Something like that.. friends all seem to be busy with stuff and not going out much, and distance/ money is an issue with getting to see some of them... OH is massively busy with work so not seeing much of him (and phonecalls mainly consist of him telling me how busy he is and doesn't have much time to talk!)... gets to me a bit when I pass a row of bars with people sitting outside in the sun after work...Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
How far away is he? I know what you mean about folk sitting in rows together, but it is just an illusion..they may have just met up that day.
Its funny in summer, as everything is bursting with life and moving at a fast pace, so i think thats what we feel...a little step away from it all.
Do your friends have webcams? so have virtual parties together?
I dont have skype, but have heard they are a good cheap way for communicating. If you lived nearer i would say come to mine for a brew..the kettle is always onin my house, and i have an extensive collection of teas for delectation.
It seems a lot of folk are interested in moonwalks for next year, so something great to look forward too there. You have done amazingly well lately and have had a busy week, so dont let it get to you too much . xxBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Thanks, yeah I know what you mean, it can seem like everyone else is having more fun when they might not necessarily be! OH is just the other side of town but has the demands of work, kids and psychotic ex to deal with - as well as me.. :rotfl:Friends are mostly online so do speak quite a bit via MSN etc, thank goodness or I'd be a complete misery!
I'm quite tempted to do both London & Edinburgh Moonwalks next year.. although I also have scary running ambitions! Are you up for doing one of the walks?
Have a virtual cuppa... :coffee: xxDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Hi bob and all. Seems like an age that I have been away from the boards (in reality just a few days - work pressure mainly) - sounds like you've had a bit of a roller coaster week. Hope things are settling down. Can relate to the runner beans - I was ridiculously excited yesterday when the potatoes my neighbour gave me last week sprouted little green plants :j and my toms (also from the neighbour) have doubled in height! I'm not great with green things - but am determined to keep these ones going!0

Hey BOB and Mizmir - and any other green-fingered DFWs out there!
I know what you mean miz - I'm not great with plants either, but being as there's food at stake I am much more determined not to kill them off!
Have a few lovely red raspberries that need picking now, and the runner beans are still running, so I am hopeful of some competition for you BOB!Official DFW Nerd Club #20  Proud To Be Dealing With My DebtsDFW Long Hauler #109

aww hugs rs...how about doing something like joining a book group? Its a cheap way to meet new people and really look forward to it plus have made a good friend from mine! Its only once a month so something to look forward to without being a huge pressure! Plus you read books you wouldnt normally! Could you be feeling a bit "flat" after the moonwalk? Just a thought...
Bob another tea connessor! (?sp!!) I love tea and am famus for having lots (usually all except for normal lol!!). My mission in life is to create a nice cheap equivalent to starbucks chai latte!! Weezl has been helping & came up with an excellent blend so we just need to tweak it!! Perfection will soon follow...Whats your fave tea?
Great news re the upgrade - squabbling teenagers no fun (according to my mum!) ...
For those generally feeling abit left out I can deff reccoment an allotmet for likeminded people wh like to grow things, chat & swap produce! Plus its sociable & satisfying and cheap at 36 a year for my full 10 perch plot! Just a thought...Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1!
