I got the ebico price increase letter yesterday and I immediately rang them up re my final electricity bill prices re paying the old tariff. They would have none of it in spite of me letting them know that yesterday was the date of official notification to me. She kept quoting that they have 90 days. I was not at all impressed with the tone of the conversation. I had previously had to ring their agent swalec and received a call from a lovely, polite and friendly person. Very different to ebico. So now I am going to switch from ebico gas as well but I will wait for the bg incentive to go onto dual fuel, which will surely happen at some stage after I become a bg click 6 customer for electricity
Ebico has lost its way. I am not cross re the final electricity bill settlement, which I have yet to receive but I am cross at the way it was put across via their customer service0 -

Their one and the same customer service department as Ebico Customer Service both inbound and outbound is outsourced to their energy provider. Scottish and Southern ( Swalec, Southen Electric etc ).0 -
not true jhp. I rang swalec the other day. Yesterday I rang ebico DIRECT
Just a thought, perhaps the cs person at ebico was crabby because of the droves of people leaving ebico, as they are the ones supporting the key meter customers. Maybe their books no longer balance0 -
... Yesterday I rang ebico DIRECT..."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100

No idea if that gets you through to Ebico themselves or SSE/Swalec, though. Have to say, if there IS no way of contacting Ebico direct, why not?Call me Carmine....

You know very well why you can't call ebico directly.
You can however contact them in writing."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

The freephone number goes through to SSE - they may or may not introduce themselves as ebico (since it is a customers service number for ebico customers), but it is SSE who you actually speak to (the company used to provide customer service to ebico customers)
Anyway, if you are convinced it's ebico, call them and sort out why they switched your gas in error - I'm sure it was you who originally saying you couldn't contact ebico (still not sure not sure why you needed to actually contact ebico - SSE should have been able to answer and customer service issues. Sounds like you didn't write to them either)
Btw, ebico are not misleading their customers

When you switch to Ebico, you’ll receive a welcome pack that bears the logos of both S&SE and Ebico. This will include details of the S&SE customer support phone line, and a phone service for customers to report their own meter reads, billing enquiry service and customer service line. You can also phone Ebico’s enquiry line at any time on 0800 096 6344. See also our contact numbers.
Your bills will also reflect the partnership of S&SE and Ebico. Find out more about payment methods or bills."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
