As long as you inform Ebico that you are changing, your last bill will be at the rates before increase.
I think that has passed now."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
You had to notify them within 10 working days of receiving the price rise notification.
I think that has passed now.
Depends when you get the notification!
I only received mine on 5th November with the latest bill,(13 days ago from today, but I told them on 6th), so it depends when the bill/notification is received, and for some that may be yet to comeDon`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
I haven`t received any price rise notification from ebico. I got price rise from mse posters0

... and notice should be in writing as per clause 12 of their terms & conditions.
Price rise info was sent out to all customers second class at the beginning of the month. If you haven't received yours yet, get onto Royal Mail and claim for a lost letter
Edit: as per the same clause 12...We’ll assume you’ve received the notice 2 working days after we’ve sent it unless we receive evidence to the contrary..."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Hi all
Ebico are a sub company of southern electric...and yes I got a letter also although mine was abit different...
first of all I got a booklet about saving energy together...
then this...
Important changes to your energyplus Care Tariff
as this is what I am on...
Dear Miss xxxxxx
Over the last few years Southern Electric have pledged to follow a responsible pricing policy, and since 2004 we have kept energy prices as low as possible for as long as possible, and during this period we have been one of the cheapest energy suppliers in the UK.*
You may be aware of recent media coverage highlighting the global increase in gas and oil prices, and the effect this is having on wholesale prices or the UK energy industry.
UK wholesale prices have risen by 190% for electricity and 230% for gas between February 2007 and July 2008.**I regret that this rise in wholesale prices means we are unable to maintain our current price levels. From 25 August 2008 we have had to raise gas prices by 29.2% and our electricity prices by 19.2% on average.
However as an energyplus care customer, the recent price increase will not apply to you until the end of the forthcoming winter period at the earilest.
We know the cost of keeping warm is a worry, particularly for energyplus care customers, long before winter sets in. With the overall cost of living increasing, we know this is a very difficult period for everyone.
At Southern Electric we continue to focus on helping customers who need our help the most. This is why we are holding off putting up energyplus care customers prices until the end of the winter period at the earilest.
We have made a few changes to the energyplus care terms and conditions.
For example, regardless of how you pay, as an energyplus Care customer, you will pay our lowest unit rate in your area. For full details of the revised energyplus care terms and conditions, please look at the back of this letter. We have also enclosed an energy efficiency leaflet full of hints and tips to save energy and money.
You do not need to do anything to continue to receive the benefits of energyplus care. I do hope this will give you piece of mind over the winter period. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to call on us 0800 300 111 between 8am and 8pm mon-friday and 8am to 2pm on saturdays.
yours sincerely
Ian Marchant
Chief Executive.
so that was nice of them to do that for all us poor folk who are on the care tariff...
actually even though I signed up to Ebico and got SE I don't mind in the least...I get a bill once every 6 months and its not for very much...and thats just the way I like it...
and there customer service is best to none...I cannot fault them always very helpfull and I got a free carbon monoxide alarm and 8 free energy light bulbs...so even better...
Plans for 2009
1/ Get fit. 2/ Get my figure back. 3/ Get the MAN BACK! :kisses2::happylove

Ebico are not a subsidiary of Scottish and Southern (Southern Electric).
http://www.ebico.co.uk/html/a_about.php
Scottish and Southern are in fact their supply partner and provide their billing and customer service
Your bills, or statements, if you are with EBico will come from the relevant Scottish and Southern supply company within your region who actually deliver your gas or electricity:- England Southern Electric, Southern Electric Gas
- Wales SWALEC
- Scotland Scottish HydroElectric.

I was looking at a comparison site which claimed I would save £58 a year by switching my electricity from Ebico to ScottishPower.
The other day SSE announced that a price cut was likely in January.
As Ebico is linked to SSE it might be best to await any cuts before deciding to change suppliers.
In the same article,I noted, that BGas said they would not be reducing prices shortly, surprise,suprise!0 -

With some regret I've now applied to move my electricity from Ebico to British Gas Click energy 6. On current prices it represents a £68 pa saving to me (approx 2000Kwh pa). That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Sums up the stupidity of it all IMO. 2000kwhs per year is 1300 kwhs less than the average leccy consumption of the average household yet a not for profit, so called ethical company is STILL £68 dearer than a greedy, awful, fatcat-strewn comglomerate even on that low usage. There's something seriously wrong somewhere.Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0
